With the help of their Son Luke, and Daughter-in-law Hannah, who is a qualified horse behaviourist and trainer, they recently bought a small herd of mares to breed with their pedigree Dartmoor Stallion to produce quality hardy Dartmoor foals with easy characters. The aim was to produce a selection of ponies, heritage approved and pedigree of all ages and up to 12.2hh to give clients a wide range of choice when it came to buying a pony for family/pony club/showing or driving. The prefix Blackator comes from the closest Tor to our farm. All the ponies are handled by Hannah using natural horsemanship methods similar to the handling done by the DPHT throughout the various stages of handling. We are very willing to offer can offer advice to new owners to ensure that they get the best out of their ponies. Merribridge Groomsman, our gorgeous stallion has recently been named by the Dartmoor Pony Society as one of the select few working pedigree stallions with a direct link to Hele Romeo. “All the male lines actually trace to three stallions....it is now up to breeders to do everything they can to save these lines” Hele Romeo was one of these three stallions.
