"Evolution Simulation Lab 1. Describe how the simulation models natural selection (and evolution). It models natural selection because it shows us how organisms live in the environment, the organisms capable of taking of itself gets the chance to reproduce whereas those incapable of surviving alone wil die and be replaced by the offspring of the survivors. 2. Explain HOW the mutation rate affects the evolution of your populations. --> Explain WHY the mutation rate affects the evolution of your populations. The mutation rate affects the population because for better or for worse there has been a sudden change within an individual and that in turn will affect the rest of its species over time. 3. Explain HOW altering the selection rate affects the evolution of your populations. (You may want to include an explanation of what "selection strength" means.) --> Explain WHY altering the selection rate affects the evolution of your populations. The data varied throughout trials and the higher the selection strength the higher the mean phenotype. The higher the selection strength the better the chance of their surviving in their environment.
