Overall appearance on the circle. Gear needs to be the correct fit. Judged on the child’s ability to ride and control the horse. Able to walk and trot older children may canter (their choice) Judge will be looking for good hands, seat, balance and style. Judge will be looking for a safe reliable mount suitable for a child. Confirmation, grooming and presentation are considered. Clothes and gear not considered. Mount unsaddled. Neatly dressed child leads horse. Bridle preferred. Judged on the child’s ability to lead, control and show pony. Horse should lead well at walk and trot. Stand well in line up. 28. Tennis balls in the straw – walk around in circle, on signal dismount and find ball. Elimination the same as musical chairs. 35. Barrel Race – 11 yrs & under * The barrel race is a timed event. Riders will do this event in the afternoon, when their age group is not doing novelties. 56 Barrel Race – 12 – 13 yrs 57 Barrel Race – 14 – 18 yrs Topsy Ring Judge: Ride up to a bucket and drop a tennis ball in, ride to end and dismount and pick up ball, return to bucket and drop ball in, ride to finish Ride around 3 x 44 gallon drums. Cloverleaf pattern. Timed event. Two runs through. Events 17 & 18 will be run in groups of 4 in age groups. Ribbons will be awarded in each group of 4. Lunch break – 12 o’clock, judging will resume at 1pm Fancy dress – judged at 12.40pm in the dressage arena. Rider must have helmet and boots on, horse must have a bridle. Judged at the walk and halt, (riders may be led) as a horse and rider combination. All riders are eligible. Event split into 3 groups according to age. Floral Garland first: sashes second and third: ribbons 4th – 6th place
