College of Nursing-Palm Beach Gardens Stefanie La Manna, PhD, ARNP, FNP-C Dr. Stefanie La Manna is an Assistant Professor in the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner program at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. La Manna received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barry University and graduated with honors, Cum Laud. She received her Master’s in Science, specializing as a family nurse practitioner, from Barry University. She received her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing at Barry University. Dr. La Manna is currently pursuing her second Master’s degree in Public Health specializing in epidemiology. Dr. La Manna is a board certified family nurse practitioner and has been practicing as a family nurse practitioner since 2001. Her past patient population consisted of managing acute and chronic illnesses across the life span specializing in asthma, allergies and immunology. Her present area of practice is internal medicine specializing in infectious disease and immunology with her patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics. Dr. La Manna’s recent publication is titled “Testing the La Manna Asthma Safety Questionnaire for Coaches.” in “The International Journal of Sport and Society.” Dr. La Manna is currently revising her instrument titled “Asthma Safety Knowledge Questionnaire for Coaches.” She is interested in coaches’ knowledge regarding asthma. She is an advocate for children and adults with asthma to maintain their safety while engaging in sports. Dr. La Manna’s main areas of interests are infectious diseases, immunology, asthma, and the importance of immunizations throughout the life span. Dr. La Manna’s Professional Memberships include: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; American Nurses Association; American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; Asthma Educators Professional Membership; American Medical Women’s Association-South Chapter and National Chapter; Barry University Alumni Association Broward County Pediatric Society; Empire’s Who’s-Who for Professionals and Executives; Florida Nurses Association; Nurse Practitioner Council of Palm Beach County; Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing; South Florida Council of Advance Nurse Practitioners. Dr. La Manna started at NSU in 2012 as a faculty member in the APRN graduate level program.
