ACPM CLINICAL RISK MANAGEMENT FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM ACPM is exploring the concept of developing a national Clinical Risk Management Fellowship program that would support placement of postgraduate preventive medicine physicians in a two-year fellowship program in pharmacovigilance. The goals of the program would be to expose preventive medicine physicians to various aspects of global product safety in a major pharmaceutical company and to provide direct training and experience in how pharmaceutical manufacturers use data to support research, development, adoption, and utilization of products. The Clinical Risk Management Fellowship would prepare Fellows for a career in pharmacovigilance and risk management in the pharmaceutical industry. This would be done through a rigorous, hands-on training program that exposes the fellow to the various aspects of global product safety in an industry setting. Proposed Qualifications Qualified candidates should be graduates of an accredited residency in Preventive Medicine. Successful applicants would possess a medical degree (MD or DO), in addition to an MPH or MS, preferably in Epidemiology. Prospective applicants should have training in epidemiology and biostatistics from an accredited school and show a keen interest in pursuing a career in Clinical Risk Management in the pharmaceutical industry. Board certification in a medical specialty, at least 3 years of clinical experience, and demonstrated analytic skills, as well as writing skills, are preferred. If Interested… ACPM Corporate Roundtable members who are interested in exploring a Fellowship program in pharmacovigilance or other area of interest should contact ACPM Executive Director Mike Barry at mbarry@acpm.org or ACPM Development Officer Sandy Panther at spanther@acpm.org.
