ANNOUNCEMENT ON POWER GENERATION
AND PROGRESS OF PROJECTS OF 2012

The board of directors (the “Board”) and all directors (the “Directors”) of the Company warrant that there
are no false representations and misleading statements contained in, or material omissions from this
announcement, and severally and jointly accept the responsibility for the truthfulness, accuracy and
completeness of the contents of this announcement.
This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.10(B) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities
on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) announces that, based on the
Company’s preliminary statistics, as at 31 December 2012, total power generation of the Company and its
subsidiaries (the “Group”) amounted to 202.1456 billion kWh, representing a decrease of approximately
0.77% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Total on-grid power generation
of the Group amounted to 191.1810 billion kWh, representing a decrease of approximately 0.50% when
compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
In 2012, the Group obtained approvals of 14 power generating projects, among which, there are 2 thermal
power (turbine) projects, 1 hydropower project, 6 wind power projects, and 5 photovoltaic power projects,
with a total approved capacity of 2,707 MW.

As a result of slowdown of economic growth, decline on the growth of the total power utilization level
from the whole society, as well as the plan of the Group to carry out maintenance of power generation
units, the power generation by thermal power generation units of the Group declined by approximately 4%
on a year-to-year basis; as there was an increase in inflow water in the basin where the power generation
units of the Group are situated, the Group’s hydropower generation increased by approximately 34% on a
year-to-year basis; as the capacity of the Group’s wind power generation units were increased on a
year-on-year basis and their efficiency were enhanced, the Group’s wind power generation increased by
approximately 58% on a year-to-year basis.
II. Approval status of power generation projects of the Group
In 2012, the Group obtained official approvals on 14 power generation projects, with a total approved
capacity of 2,707 MW in total.
1. Thermal power (turbine) projects: Beijing Gao Jing 3 x 460 MW gas-fired thermal power expansion
project; Guangdong Gaoyao 2 x 423 MW turbine project, 2,226 MW in total.

Hydropower project: Furongjiang Haokou 2 x 62.5 MW hydropower project of Wujiang basin,
Chongqing, 125MW in total.
3. Wind power projects: Liaoning Changtu Sanjiangkou 48 MW project; Liaoning Faku Shuangtaizi 48
MW wind power project; Datang Yangxi Baishawan 36 MW wind power project; Hebei Fengning
Luotuogou phase 2 48 MW wind power project ; Jiangxi Anyuan Jiulongshan 48 MW wind power
project; Jiangxi Fengcheng Yuhuashan 48 MW wind power project, 276 MW in total.
4. Photovoltaic projects: Qinghai Geermu phase 2 20MW photovoltaic project; Inner Mongolia
Hangjinqi Balagong 10 MW photovoltaic project; Inner Mongolia Zhuozi Bayin phase 1 10 MW
photovoltaic project; Inner Mongolia Hongmu 20 MW photovoltaic project; Ningxia Hongsibao 2
0MW photovoltaic project, 80 MW in total.
