III. COMMITTEE DISCUSSION/ACTION TO PLACE ITEMS ON FUTURE AGENDAS

Edward Martinez asked for input and discussion on the new PCC policy # 4062, “Philosophy and Criteria for Associate Degree and General Education.” The wording is taken directly from Title 5 regulations.

The sentence in section (c) [English composition or reading courses] needs to be clarified. “Each student may count only one such course below transfer level for credit toward the associate degree ” is ambiguous.

The sentence “Most important, general education should lead to better understanding” was taken directly from Title 5, but the committee agreed it seems vague. The sentence should be deleted.

IV. PRESENTATIONS AND AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION

The chair thanked the committee for its collegiality during long meetings.

V. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Everyone needs to attend the final C&I meeting on Thursday, April 30.

VI. ADJOURNMENT
