What a busy month it’s been!
Denise & Shona attended a Lymphodema Education evening on Thursday 18 June to learn more
about Lymphodema. What is Lymphodema? It’s swelling caused by a build up of lymph fluid in the body
tissues. Normally fluid flows through lymph vessels, but if the lymphatic system is damaged or
inadequate, fluid builds up. Lymphoedema results in swelling of the limbs and can be very painful. Many
breast cancer patients (up to 38%) can get secondary lymphoedema, as a result of surgery and radiation
to the lymph nodes. Lymphoedema normally appears 3-6 months after surgery. Light touch massage
can clear away the fluid to be drained by healthy tissue, slow paced exercises and deep breathing can
assist, as can compression bandages. The benefits of Complimentary therapies such as Reiki are being
explored, through programs such as Sweet Louise. (Sweet Louise is a group of Reiki Practitioners who
give free treatments to Cancer patients.) Was most interesting to learn about Lymphodema to assist our
breast cancer patients.
The Breast Cancer Society (BSC’s) AGM was held on Monday 22. Lynne Walker from Sweet Louise,
invited Denise & Shona to attend with 5 other Reiki Practitioners to give demonstrations of Reiki to
participants. Reiki was well received by the participants – most of them receiving for the first time! An
article and photos will be in the up and coming Breast Cancer Support newsletter.
Did you attend the Pathfinders book sale this month!! We did…… purchased a couple of books
each. The best bargain was our $6.00 music CD’s. Had a brief reading with “Belinda Grace” from
Australia – Author of “You are Clairvoyant” who was doing a book signing at pathfinders.
Watch out for the Aug/Sep edition of Rainbow News. We’re featuring another advert for somethingdifferent.
We’re re-vamping the website. Chris from Maffey’s.com is upgrading us to a “content
management” site. Basically I’ll be able to enter everything myself, change stuff around and post my
newsletter each month. Should be finished in the next 4 weeks.

Calendar of Events
Light Nights
“Light Nights” - for those whom want to learn more about the realm of light, share our experiences and
knowledge. A different theme, held one Sunday, each month from 3.00pm-6.00pm
Evenings start with a 10 minute self healing meditation. Followed by the theme of the evening, ending
with nibbles, light refreshments and a mix and mingle opportunity.
Cost $15.00 - $25.00 – vary’s depending on materials each month.

Since starting the courses, I’ve had a great response. Courses tend to fill in the first week of advertising,
so don’t procrastinate. Remember early bird, catches the worm! First in, first serve.

The Law of Spiritual Attraction
Light Nights
The first of our “Light Nights” was held on 01 June – The Law of Spiritual Attraction.
“YOU ATTRACT WHAT YOU THINK”. We learnt how to ask, be specific and magnify our messages to the
universe by using the vibration of love. We also touched on angelic hierarchy and how our spirit guides
and guardians can also assist. We watched part of The Secret and then spent the afternoon creating
vision boards. We did a self-healing meditation, received gratitude stones and shared our vision boards
with each-other. Tea, coffee and refreshments followed. A lovely time had by all.
