The Greenhouse Gas Pilot Program in Mexico

The Mexico GHG Program is a voluntary, national GHG accounting and
reporting program that is helping over 30 participating companies
manage their GHG emissions. The first of its kind in a non-Annex I
party, the program was established in 2004 by the Mexican Secretariat of
Environment and Natural Resources in partnership with the WRI and the
WBCSD The side event will review the Program’s achievements to date
and explore its future directions and political implications in the context
of changing national and international climate policy.

Business Action for Energy (BAE)

BAE is an innovative structure aimed at enhancing the business
contribution to the UN CSD process. The purpose of this intervention is
to demonstrate that policies need to be compiled in an integrated manner.
Presentations will highlight successful energy mitigation projects discuss
the outcomes, models used and lessons learned. Energy-related CDM
projects will be highlighted and the interlinkages between COP and
CSD.

their ability to remove and store carbon dioxide. A panel of experts will
