What types of services and information do you provide to farmers (and their
communities) on:
3.1 Agriculture related decision making
We mainly provide information to the farmers about their livestock i.e. how to keep them,
how to feed them and how to prevent them from various diseases.
3.2 Natural resource management
We provide information to the farmers about feeding of animal, we encourage them to
prepare silage and hay, which helps in scarcity period.
3.3 Food security
We suggest them medication, which helps to increase the milk production of animals.
3.4 Weather and climate related decision making
We provide them information about the care of animals in extreme hot and cold weather.
3.5 Markets related decision making
We guide the farmers about the market which they can get for their produce.

Mitigation

4 What objectives does your organisation aim to fulfil in the area of supporting farmer
decision making by providing information and services? List them

 Free vaccination to the animals for HS, FMD, Sheep pox, Enterotoxaemia, PPR,

Scheme for employment Opportunities to SC families by establishing livestock units &
insurance of their livestock
2 What are you doing?
We provide 25 % financial assistance from the government and remaining 75 %
contributed by the beneficiaries as loan from the bank.

In all the districts of Haryana

Any family who already availed one or the other type of loan and is either in the process
of repayment or defaulter shall not be eligible.
Selection criteria- BPL families, no families with govt/ semi govt job, landless family, land
holding less than 2.5 acres, families having no livestock but having aptitude and housing
facilities to rear livestock.

For 2012-13 a target a set up 1000 units (800 two milch animals, 100 piggery and 100 sheep
units.)

Veterinary surgeon is responsible for preliminary identification of the farmers.
He arrange for public announcement in the village, put notices in chaupal / harijan chaupals,
contact personally the village sarpanch, scheduled caste member of village Panchayat.
SDO (AH) do the final approval.
After approval veterinary surgeon check for the knowledge of applicant about livestock rearing.
Veterinary surgeon issue health certificate require insuring the animal.
Beneficiary select the animals, if he is not in the position for self contribution of 75 per cent,
then it arranged as loan wholly or partially.

related activity do you think would have potential here that is not yet included in your

Instead of selling direct liquid milk by the producers they should processed it into
value added product. It will increase their income and share in the consumer rupee.
