Application for Active Student Status
The first nine quarters of study constitute a probationary time for each MLA student. To
be eligible for active student status, within nine quarters, a student must have completed
the foundation sequence, the core introductory seminar, and the first two MLA seminars,
with no incompletes, with a minimum of a B+ grade point average, and having complied
with all University policies and procedures. Granting active student status is in the
discretion of the program. Please fill out and turn in an application even if your GPA
does not meet the minimum.

You can view your course history and grades in your Student Center in Axess. Under
Academics, go to the drop-down menu Other Academics, choose View Course History.
Based on the following system, please calculate your MLA grade point average by
multiplying each grade score by the number of units for that course, then dividing the
total by the total number of units completed. You should only include your Foundations,
Core, and seminar grades in the GPA—do not include CSP electives:
