Overview
School psychologists provide a variety of professional services to the students. Their
training in the areas of psychology and education enable them to assist school teams
in improving the interpersonal and educational performance of all students. The
overarching goal of the psychological services program is to increase student
capacity to overcome academic, personal, and social problems that hinder their
attainment of educational success and a satisfying and productive life. School
psychologists play a critical role in supporting the attainment of the goals of local
school systems and help to ensure that all students possess the capacity to become
well-adjusted contributing members of society. The psychological services program
recognizes the importance of diversity and acknowledges that individual differences
strengthen both school operations and society in general.
