PAST RESEARCH PROJECTS:
 Novel chromatographic techniques for isolation and purification of proteins
and enzymes (membrane chromatography and monolithic chromatography).
 Studies of interactions of drug-protein and metal ion-metalloprotein using
microdialysis/HPLC.
1
 Protein analysis, peptide mapping and fingerprinting analysis using HPLC, CE,
and MADLI-TOF MS.
 Enzyme microreactors.
 Immobilization of proteins, enzymes, DNA and related binding partners on
artificial membranes and silicon to develop novel biochromatographic
technique.
Screening
and analysis of biologically active components in natural products

and Chinese medicine using affinity chromatography, microdialysis/HPLC,
and MADLI-TOF MS.
CURRENT RESEARCH INTEREST
 Affinity capillary electrophoresis. Investigating DNA-Protein interaction
and antigen-antibody interaction to clarify the binding stoichiometry and the
underlined mechanisms.
 DNA damage and repair. Developing novel ultrasensitive methods and
techniques for detection of DNA damage. Techniques include capillary
electrophoresis and laser-induced fluorescence, and single cell gel
electrophoresis (comet assay).
 Assessment of human exposure to carcinogens using DNA adducts as
biomarkers. Assessment of genotoxicity of environmental carcinogens, such
as benzo(a)pyrene and arsenic, present at the levels relevant to environmental
exposure.
