Greek Macedonian dream and surroundings
Day 1:
Arrival at Thessaloniki, overnight at Thessaloniki.
Day 2:
Visit of the most important sites of Thessaloniki ( Archeological
Museum, Agios Dimitrios, Rotonda, Galerius Arch, Old City and castle,
White Tower, Ladadika. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
Day 3:
Departure from Thessaloniki. Visit the City of Pella, through Alexandria arrival to Vergina where the historical
graves of Alexander's the Great family are. Visit the City of Verria and then drive to Naousa and the
beautifull area of Saint Nicolas with Platania forest. Also we have the chance to visit a local winery. Both
cities are parallel located at the beginning of mountain Vermion.
Day 4:
Departing from Naousa we pass Edessa visit waterfalls and then we
visit the Nympheon a traditional, historical Village .Later we go to
Florina city and Prespes lakes to admire the nature, the different
kinds of birds and the small fishing village of Psarades. Late
afternoon we arrive at kastoria.
Day 5:
Kastoria is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. On the lake City
Tour and round trip to the lake by bus, we can see the monastery of
Mavriotissa , old churches and the Archontica, the old rich people
houses. Then we visit the rebuilt old lake village [7000 years about]
in Dispilio and at the same day we see the Petrified Forest.
Day 6:
Early in the morning we drive to Ioannina we pass Zachorochoria and Vikos. In Ioannina we visit the small
island and the Cave of Perama. On our way to Kalambaka we make a stopover at Metsovo a traditional
mountainous village and spend the night in Kalambaka.
Day 7:
This is the day of Meteora. The huge greyish rocks rise up as though pushed by a gigantic hand form the
bowels of mother earth where Byzantine monasteries are of more than thousands of years. The view is
breathtaking. Drive back to Thessaloniki and stopover at the foot of
Mount Olympus in Litochoro. Village and towards to Thessaloniki.
Day 8:
Visit of Mount Athos by boat.Mount Athos is the unique Monastery land
in the World.
Day 9:
Visit the cities Kavalla and Xanthi.
Day 10:
Visit Thasos island.
Day 11:
Visit the city of Serres and Kerkini lake.
Day 12:
Visit the cities Drama, Komitini, Alexndroupolis.
