1) Use the grades listed below to create a MS Excel Spreadsheet.
2) Create an Excel Spreadsheet that has a column for each student’s last name, first
name, and each of the five test scores.
3) Insert formulas at the end of columns and rows as needed and answer the
following questions. You will need to label your answers in Red Font on the
spreadsheet for question numbers four through nine below.
4) What is the name of the student who has the highest combined score from all five
tests?
5) What is the name of the student who has the lowest combined score from all five
tests?
6) As a class, which test has the greatest mean score? What is the mean score?
7) As a class, which test has the lowest mean score? What is the mean score?
8) As a class, which test has the highest standard deviation score? What is the
deviation score?
9) As a class, which test has the lowest standard deviation score? What is the
deviation score?
10) Before you e-mail spreadsheet:
a. Sort the students in alphabetical order by last name.
b. Name the sheet “Grades” on the Tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
Color the tab green.
c. Format the spreadsheet for printing with the following properties:
i. Show gridlines.
ii. Header on Right = “Spring 2010”
iii. Header in Middle = “Test Battery Scores”
1. Header should be Arial, 14 point , bold.
iv. Display the page number in the right footer
v. Page Orientation = Landscape
vi. Scaling = one page wide by one page tall
vii. Paper size = letter
viii. DO NOT PRINT THE SPREADSHEET.
11) Save your spreadsheet as ( “Grades. your last name” )
12) E-mail your completed assignment to me as an attachment, and send the e-mail as
“PHED 300, Assignment #4, Your Last Name,” in the subject line.
This assignment is worth 10 points.
