“AWAKEN OH ANCESTOR SOULS, AWAKEN”
Dadi Janki – GRC- 13/06/2004
When you think of the ancestor souls, you think of the old things. The things of the past mean things of
the last kalpa. The ancestor souls are trikaldarshi. They know the beginning, middle and the end and in
that form of being trikaldarshi, they do everything. They are free from ego and attachment and therefore
can be trikaldarshi. When you are trikaldarshi, the third eye is open. They come and go between all the
three lands. They play the part in the corporeal as instruments for whatever they need to do but then
they keep Brahma Baba in front of them. They stay with him in the Subtle Region and then practise that
bodiless stage and stay up above in the Soul World. Their attitude and vibration pull them up above.
They never are caught up with bodily beings here no matter how good they might be as after all they
are bodily beings of Kaliyug.
We are all Brahmins of the Confluence Age and so we must not have any defect and whatever virtue
we have, we must not have ego about it. If I have ego about my specialities or virtues or I get
impressed by somebody else’s virtues or specialities, what would be my condition. Nor should I have
dislike or displeasure towards anyone. This is the qualification of the ancestor soul. I am the soul that
remains beyond.
Keep a list of what ancestor souls do. They are incognito, true effort makers. Whatever weakness they
have they will finish it through Baba’s remembrance. They don’t do anything secretly and they don’t
hide their weaknesses. Those who do things secretly are considered greatly sinful souls.
Whatever Brahma Baba does, he does for us. We become like him. He sees Vishnu in front of him and
takes inspiration from that. The ancestor souls keep Brahma Baba in front of them and take inspiration
from him.
What does it mean to give visions?
Dadi Gulzar goes into trance and brings messages and she sees visions. When Baba comes in Dadi
Gulzar's body, we also see that. At one level, we may feel that Dadi goes into trance and sees visions
and we do not do that, but when Baba comes, we clearly have the vision, we see Baba in reality. Is
this right, that you see Baba through these eyes and experience Baba? The one who has elevated
quality actions in life and dharna will be the one who becomes the embodiment of giving visions to
others as Baba does. To give visions to others is the task of Baba.
To pull the intellect of others is Baba's task and to become the embodiment of visions is my task. One,
who is the embodiment of visions, is filled with elevated dharna, that is, has complete purity, is allvirtuous and has nothing lacking in life. Such a soul has all celestial arts present and has, over a long
period, the power of an immovable and unshakeable mind. This power is inculcated in life. The stage
in which the soul used to fluctuate is finished. Now, experience the stage of being the embodiment of
attainment.
When the soul is the embodiment of all virtues and attainments, then even from a distance, souls will
experience those attainments in their life through you. They will experience all attainments and receive
visions because of your stage of perfection. Through the pure vibrations of the perfect stage, other
souls will experience attainments in life and feel that their problems are also solved.

The Nine Goddesses: Nine worship worthy forms
Have I recognised myself, Baba and everyone else? Those who are to attain a royal status recognise
themselves very well, and they know that the One who has made them like that is supremely worthy of
worship. They have so much love and regard for such a supremely beloved Father, Teacher and
Satguru. The One who is supremely worthy of worship makes worshippers into those who are worthy of
worship. We were vicious and He makes us worthy of worship and viceless. Keep the egoless and
incorporeal supremely worthy of worship Father in front of you in order to maintain your stage. The
qualities of our worship worthy forms are remembered in the stories of the gods and goddesses.
Remembrance of Brahma Baba’s worship worthy form
Just in one Baba, we remember his qualities as those of Brahma, Vishnu, Krishna, Shiva and Narayan.
All of this should be visible in us also as we are Brahma Kumaris and Kumaris, children of Trimurti
Baba. We are receiving Godly sustenance so that others also can receive that sustenance from us.
In sakar, Brahma Baba was here with us but we always had the feeling that he was taking us up above.
When we came to speak to him, it was as if the words fizzled out and there was nothing left to say. In
fact, Baba knew that it was better for us if we spoke and thought less. We have been given very great
things to think about and those great things have taken away all our worry. You may feel it is necessary
to think a lot about certain situations but in fact, that is a waste of time and energy. Go deep, go deep
into the deep things you are learning here and you will also feel that it is not right to worry or to get
concerned over trivial matters. Thoughts of knowledge will actually allow you to be free.
Shiv Baba and Brahma Baba are enjoying themselves up there but down here, we sometimes fluctuate.
The subtle region has been created for us. It is a beautiful place where there is no day and no night. In
the subtle region, white light is everywhere and that light is full of might. . Baba has kept the door to the
subtle region open to us and he tells us to come there at any time. There is no lock on the door. The
subtle region is a place created especially for us to spend time before we go back to the soul world.
This is why Brahma Baba has gone back first. He is there waiting for you to visit.
Remembrance of Mama and her worship worthy form
Before going to Baba's room this evening, I had the feeling of invoking Mama, the goddess of all
powers and all virtues, and wanted to share this feeling with the divine family all over the world. I feel
Mama is inspiring all of us to become Shiv Shakti, the ones who take all powers from Shiva.
What made Mama so sweet? She sustained us with her power, her honesty and her love. Avyakt
BapDada is sustaining us now and Mama, in a secret way, is playing her part in this.
Normally you cannot become like someone by just looking at their picture but here we experience
something different that is like a special blessing for us. We feel that by looking at the pictures of Mama
and Brahma Baba that we can become like them. It is as if you can see their very personal qualities by
looking at their pictures. However, don’t just look at the pictures, become an artist and create a
beautiful living picture of yourself.
Mama adopted four forms; Kali, Sheetla, Vaishnav Devi and Jagadamba. It was because she adopted
four forms that she will receive the fruit of becoming Lakshmi. In her form of Kali, nothing bad could
remain inside Mama. She would finish anything that came to her immediately. In her form of Sheetla,
Mama was very cool and soft. Although she was very, very powerful inside, she never spoke harshly or
loudly. No-one could show their anger in front of her because Mama would become very gentle. She
would listen attentively and say, yes, yes. As a result a person felt they had been heard and that she
had given them attention and respect. As a result, they would also change and become soft and
peaceful. The quality represented by Vaishnav Devi was that nothing that was impure could come in
front of her. Her fourth form was of Jagadamba the world mother. In this form, she would fulfil the
feelings of everyone who came in front of her. Everyone really felt that Mama was their own mother.
Mama was first Radhe and always remembered her aim of becoming the golden-aged Lakshmi and
together with that, she never forgot the Bestower of that Aim, Lakshya-Data. As soon as Baba saw her,
Baba asked, "Will you become Lakshmi?" and Mama accepted. Thus, Mama became Saraswati, and
Jagadamba. By taking power from Shiva, she became Durga. By being fearless, she became Kali, so
no one could have any impure thought in front of her. Finally, Mama attained the status of Lakshmi, by
3
becoming the embodiment of all virtues, all powers and truly the world empress who conquered
everyone's heart with her motherly love.
Within one year of coming to Baba, Mama transformed herself completely. It was difficult to realize that
this was the same 17 year old girl of the year before. She was able to finish all her insufficiencies
because she understood who she was and what she had to do. Mama really focused on becoming
madhyajibhav. Through Mama, it was clear that no-one and nothing could stop one who focuses on
God. They will not depend on anyone. We are the daughters of Mama and sons of Brahma Baba. We
have to become like our parents. When someone is with their parents, they feel happy. Mama has
taken birth for service. It is through her stage that she is now serving.
The Nine Goddesses: Nine worship worthy forms
The remembrance of Mama and the eight jewels is celebrated in the celebration of the nine Goddesses
(Navaratri). Over the next 9 days, let me take a vow to always remain in Baba's remembrance and
invoke the different powers that the 9 goddesses represent and thus became an image that grants
visions to the whole world.
Saraswati - Goddess of Knowledge - Mama listened to the knowledge from Shiv Baba and imbibed it
and played the Sitar of Knowledge and inspired everyone through her own dharna, and brought
realisation to all.
Jagadamba - Goddess of Fulfilment - giving eternal blessing of peace and happiness
Durga - Goddess of Shakti - who takes power from Shiva, removes all weaknesses within the self, and
helps to remove weaknesses of others.
Kali - Goddess of Fearlessness - who is fearless and courageous, destroys all negativity, evil and
devils
Gayatri - Goddess of Auspicious Omens - Mama gave importance to the elevated versions spoken by
Shiv Baba and used each version as a mantra and this is why there is importance of Gayatri mantra,
which works like magic to remove all bad omens.
Vaishnav - Goddess of Purity - who radiates light of purity and empowers all to become divine through
pure vision and pure thoughts
Uma - Goddess of Enthusiasm - who brings hope, zeal and enthusiasm
Santoshi - Goddess of Contentment - who brings a feeling of deep contentment
Lakshmi - Goddess of Wealth - who bestows upon souls the unlimited wealth of spiritual knowledge
and virtues.
Dadi Janki – The Five Pandavs excerpt from The Power of Peace and Truth 30 August 07 Shantivan
We are the Pandav government. And so, as Shaktis, we have to imbibe all the specialities and powers
of the 5 pandavs.
* Arjuna symbolises the first number – clever in understanding the total knowledge from God;
* Bhima symbolises care and protection – to be the protector of the yagya and look after Baba's
bhandara and uses everything in a worthwhile;
* Nakul was the one that copied God in every way to pass with honours;
* Sahadev is the deity of co-operation, to be an image of support and co-operation at every step; and
finally
* Yudhistra symbolise dharamraj – the one who maintained the balance between dharma (religion or
righteousness) and raj (rule). To be accurate in following shrimat – the law - on every level of personal
dharna and rulership – total righteousness.

You, the gods and goddesses have to do it. They are calling out to you
Bhog Message- Dadi Gulzar: June 1, 2006
Baba then asked what the children wished for today. We said to Baba that whatever Baba makes us
do, we would do that. Baba said 'Today I will show you a scene'. As Baba started walking, there was
only light all around and we all followed Baba like angels of light. As we went a little further, we entered
a garden where there was a round shape in the middle. There were seats shaped like rose flowers all
around in this circular place. Baba asked each one to find a seat and as we sat there, it felt like we
were sitting in the middle of a rose flower. And, on everyone’s head was a double crown. One was a
crown of light, the crown of purity, and second was the crown of service, the crown of responsibility.
And in the middle of the crown was a map of the world.
Everyone was wearing this crown and behind that image of the map of the world were rays of light all
around. It was a crown of complete purity -- purity in thoughts as well as in dreams. One was that crown
of light and the second was the crown of responsibility of world service. Do you have the balance of the
two? Check yourself. To the extent to which you have the power of purity, to that extent also, you must
have the responsibility of the transformation of the world -- world service. Is there a difference
sometimes in your purity? Is there sometimes not a balance of world service?
As everybody was seated on their rose seats and wearing their double crowns there was then the
sound of My Baba. This sound was like a switch and as soon as that sound came on this circular
space, where we were sitting began to rise upward. A mountain of light appeared above us and Baba
was sitting on top of that mountain. When we arrived there, we all got off from the circle where we were
sitting and we joined Baba. We started to run towards Baba and gathered around Him. Each one was
trying to run first to Baba. Baba then gave drishti to everyone. Baba then told us to look a bit further to a
place where we could look down the mountain.
We saw that on one side were bhagats praising Baba, calling out to Baba with a lot of love, praying to
God. On the other side were others calling out with a lot of sorrow, they were calling out to God from
feelings of compulsion. Then a third variety was those who were busy in their own work and weren’t
bothered about anything. Then Baba said that you have to give drishti to them as well. You are world
servers and even if they are atheists, they are still Baba’s children and your brothers and sisters. You
have to give sakaash to them first. As we gave them sakaash, they went into dead silence. Not the kind
of silence like we have, but they went into silence.
Then there are the devotees who have to receive the fruit of their devotion. Who will give them this
fruit? You, the gods and goddesses have to do it. They are calling out to you as well. Of course, they
are calling out to God, but they are calling out to you too. And so give them such an experience that in
a short space of time they are able to experience receiving peace and happiness.
And then for those who are calling out due to peacelessness and sorrow, Baba asked us, what is your
title? You are the merciful ones. Give them the rays of mercy so that they will have the experience and
feeling that they are receiving mercy from somewhere. This is the task of world transformation. You
have been given this crown of responsibility to serve all of these three types of souls. And you have to
give sakaash to all of these groups. This task you have to do every day. You have been given this
responsibility and you have to fulfil this responsibility every day. This is why you have been given this
crown of responsibility of world service.
Baba then told us to sit back on the rose seats and to go back down the mountain. As we came down,
Baba shared the importance of this practical scene of what we have to do as world servers. You forget
things and situations, but you don’t forget scenes that you have seen and this is why Baba has shown
you this scene. So check every day that you have fulfilled responsibility of world service and have
served all these three types of souls. For those who are devotees, check whether you have given them
the fruit of their devotion. For those who are calling out in distress and peacelessness, check whether
you have given them mercy and then for those who are atheists, and busy in what they are doing,
check whether you have given them the experience of dead silence. This is the experience that they
need because their intellects are working a lot.

TOPIC 6: BEING AN ANCESTOR SOUL & BEING WORSHIP WORTHY
3rd September – 7th October 2007
Senior’s Classes
Experiencing the Deity Form and Worship worthy Form through the Divine Eye
Class by Sr. Meera


Worship worthy Form through the Divine Eye
Visualization Experiments: Visualize your copper age deity form
An easy way of developing your experience of the five forms and especially that of the worship worthy
form is to develop the powers of the divine intellect and divine eye. We can use the divine intellect to
travel through the three stages of meditation corporeal, subtle and soul worlds. These worlds are
experienced as different stages of meditation. The divine eye enables us to have visions of our future
deity and worship worthy forms.
Baba usually talks about the divine eye and the divine intellect. The divine intellect works like an
aeroplane but the divine eye works like a telescope. Many times Baba tells us that it is just as if you can
see far-away scenes close to you. It is similar to watching through television. Through the divine eye
that Baba has given us, we can really go back to our past, see our present more clearly and go into our
future.
Using the divine intellect we fly and have the experience of being light and might. But the divine eye
Baba says is my microscope, my telescope and my television to the past, present and future. Most of
us do not have the gift of divine vision. However, I think that sometimes the gift of the divine intellect
and divine eye is more powerful. The divine eye and divine intellect we use through our own effort.
Because you make effort to use it, the reward remains with you.
Worship worthy Form through the Divine Eye
We can experience our deity form and our worship worthy form through the Divine Eye. Mama who
never experienced trance was able to give details of the pictures of Lakshmi and Narayan in the Golden
Age because of the clarity of her divine eye. To experience the reality of our future forms the soul can
go into trance, or use the clarity of divine vision or the divine eye, to experience the future. Baba has
given us so many experiences and descriptions of our future. We can have the experience even without
knowing the descriptions in depth, or having read them or absorbed them from the murli in depth. We
have enough and certainly, in the very pure state, if the soul begins to contemplate the future and is
patient, then immediately those images come. Moreover, if the soul is able to have trust in itself then
the divine vision can be perfectly clear. It is not as immediate or as powerful as the experience through
trance, but it is certainly as clear.
Many times Baba tells us that by using the divine eye you can see far-away scenes close to you. It is
similar to watching through television. Through the divine eye that Baba has given us, we can really go
back to our past, see our present more clearly and go into our future. We can ‘see’ through the divine
eye what we are going to become. Because we are not using the gift of the divine eye frequently, we
feel that that gap of lack of experience is still there. Using the divine intellect we fly and have the
experience of being light and might. Different from this is the divine eye, which Baba says is my
microscope, my telescope and my television to the past, present and future. It can work in such a way,
but we need to make use of it.
Most of us do not have the gift of divine vision. However, I think that sometimes the gift of the divine
intellect and divine eye is more powerful. The divine eye and divine intellect we use through our own
effort. Because you make effort to use it, the reward remains with you. Whereas with divine vision,
Baba has the key and He pulls the string of the intellect of whichever souls He wants to give a vision.
Therefore, because divine vision is not through the effort of the soul the reward is not ever lasting.
If we can’t go into trance, instead, if we use this gift of the divine eye we will have a clear vision of our
future, our worship worthy stage in front of us. The future becomes as clear as our present. Then it
7
becomes easy for us to renounce this world easily. Based on the knowledge that Baba has given, I can
‘view’ the past, present, or future. I can go and experience myself as I was, am and will be. However,
many of us don’t use that divine eye to go back through the experience of our 5000 year cycle. That is
why disinterest is not completely created, and we are not sure about our future.
Baba says that our future becomes clearer the more we use our divine eye. Just as the present is clear
to me, in the same way the angelic form can come in front of us. It is just as if you leave this costume
and enter into the angelic costume. That becomes possible if I use my divine eye more and more.
When I visualize that form, as Baba tells us, through the eye of my intellect, then I can see myself in
that form. Then it becomes natural for me to get out of this body and enter that subtle form. Then, as
the subtle form becomes clear, my future deity form and my worship worthy form also becomes clear.
Therefore, it is important to use both gifts – the divine intellect and the divine eye.
Visualization Experiments: Visualize your copper age deity form
Through visualization, you are using your divine eye or third eye to see your future form. By travelling
mentally into the future, you can experience becoming the embodiment of that using the creative power
of the mind. The outcome is that you have invoked those sanskaras from within your self so that when
you finish the drill you will have a deeper understanding and experience of those qualities.
Ask yourself what is the worship worthy form that you would like to be. Read the descriptions of the
different gods and goddesses and chose one that you feel you are drawn towards.
Sitting with Baba beside you bring your worship worthy form, see it, in front of you. See the dress, the
position of the hands. Notice what you have in your hands. What is on your head and the expression on
your face, your features?
Feel that just like putting on a dress; you merge yourself with that worship worthy form. You find
yourself looking out through your eyes as a deity. You sit with Baba and Baba fills you with the qualities
of your deity form, temporarily fulfilling the desires of the devotees. In your powerful form, you feel that
Baba, through you is radiating these qualities out to the whole world, covering the global with the light
of peace, power, light and might. While sitting in this powerful stage, in front of you, you can see your
devotees coming into the temple and sitting in front of you and taking drishti and blessings from you.
Now you return back to your Brahmin form in this ordinary body, but you maintain the awareness of the
powerful qualities that Baba has filled you with.
Visualize the final scene of destruction. Experience yourself as the image that bestows visions and
gives peace and power to the needful souls.
Om Shanti
The Role of Ancestor Souls in the Confluence Age
Being a Constant Donor (23-02-07)
Surya Bhai (Madhuban)
The Power of Donation
Practices for becoming a great donor
Giving vibrations to devotees
Serving the Five Elements
Making a plan of how to spread good wishes
We are great souls in the world. We are worship worthy gods and goddesses. We are ancestor souls. A
very great thing Baba has mentioned in murli: “you are ancestors, the effect of your charitable deeds go
to thousands of souls of all religions”. You will achieve many fruits, multi-million times fruits by this
practise. This is because all the souls of the world will get benefit from that. In sakar murli, I loved this
version: “The children who remember me 8 hours a day are my most helpful children because they
spread the vibrations of peace, purity and might in the world. If we want to become helpful, co-operative
8
to God, we must spread good vibrations to the whole world. What we give to others will come back to
us, multiplied many times. If we give peace to others, we will experience peace. If we give pure
vibrations to others, it will come back to us. Our purity will become natural.
Make a vision of yourself that: I am an ancestor soul. This kalpa tree is an inverted tree, I am sitting on
top of that tree ... at the roots…. from Baba, the vibrations are coming to me and spreading to the whole
kalpa tree.
This is one very simple yukti to do world service. For one minute, let us give vibrations of might to the
world, to all souls of all religions. Be an angel and sit on the top of the Kalpa Tree or at the roots of the
kalpa tree. Feel that vibrations of might are coming down to me from the Almighty. I am receiving
vibrations from Almighty…. These vibrations are going down to the entire Kalpa Tree. (Silence)
The Power of Donation
Baba has chosen us in order to bring benefit to the world. As we know, first He gives us the donation of
knowledge. This is known as the greatest donation in the world. To give knowledge to others, to give
right guidance to others – is a great deed of charity.
• Donate virtues to others
• donate powers to others
• donate purity to others.
How can we donate this to others? The simple method is being virtuous, and then others will learn
virtues from us. We live in this world, live a householder's life and go to our jobs. We act as responsible
persons, but if people also notice that we are very light, and very happy in our interactions, and that we
enjoy our life, then they will learn how to enjoy life, and keep themselves happy all the time. However, if
we get tense like them, they will not learn.
Our inspirations become the best teachers for others. We have to teach through our practical life. This
is how to donate virtues to others. Suppose we are sick and our body is ill. However, we are not crying
we are just normal. Pain is there but our face does not reflect the pain. We are in silence. Sometimes
we are happy too that Baba has given us the opportunity to remain in solitude. When people look at us,
they will think what a wonderful person he is. He is sick but he is so happy. It will teach them how to
remain bold. This is a very important thing for others. When we face problems then we have to pass
through different obstacles. If people see us in an unshakeable stage, they will appreciate our
knowledge then they will appreciate our stage. They will not lose their happiness and peace when they
have to pass through problems.
Our practical life becomes the best teacher. We have to show everything through practical life. Another
very important thing is to give good vibrations to the world. Give vibrations of peace, purity and might. If
you become constant great donors, your life will become free from obstacles. You need not do anything
else in your life. This practice of donating constantly will make you spiritual in your in life. How can I do
this? What can I do? Let us make a practical programme. There is a very significant version from sakar
murli, “if you become great donors this practice will make you great donors, free from obstacles”.
Practices for becoming a great donor:
1. First practice: See others as a soul, it means you give current to that soul. Therefore, if our drishti
goes to the soul, it means we give them vibrations. We can do this constant service. This is a soul and
this is a soul. All are souls. Vibrations will go to them. This is a natural practice of donating. In our
spiritual life, seeing souls in everyone’s forehead is very great and easy tapasya. It can be done in a
natural way.
2. Second practice: give others pure vibrations, this helps increase the practice of purity. If we give pure
vibrations, our purity increases day by day. So do both these practices.
Giving vibrations to devotees
This way we can also give the vibrations of peace. Have you seen in India some temples of
goddesses?
Make a vision: I am the goddess with eight arms… I am sitting in the place of that statue. Thousands of
devotees are standing in front of me. They have come to me with different desires in their mind. They
9
are asking “oh goddess, give me peace, give me divine intellect, oh goddess give me powers to face
problems. Listen to their call. Do this practice: Imagine that from me a focussed beam of light is coming
and going to them. From me vibrations are going towards them and all their desires are being fulfilled
… their problems are ending.
If you are unable to create such vision, stand on the terrace and feel that powerful vibrations are going
from me towards people. Sorrowful people are receiving happiness from me; peaceless souls are
receiving peace from me. Weak souls are receiving powers from me. Change your side, now turn
towards the east, feel that souls are receiving vibrations from me. Vibrations are going southwards.
Then turn towards the western side. Feel that pure vibrations are going towards these souls. Make this
become a game and then you’ll enjoy it.
Just now for 1 minute do this visualization: “I am a goddess with 8 arms…. I am in the temple…. In front
of me there are thousands of devotees… from me rays are going to them….”
Serving the Five Elements
Another very interesting vision: I am angel, sitting on a lotus flower, and this lotus flower is floating on
the ocean…. From there I am giving pure vibrations to water…. I am moving and giving pure vibrations
to entire water of the world….
The five elements have sustained our 84 lives. We have taken full sustenance from nature and now we
have to sustain nature. Give pure vibrations to nature. At the time of destruction, nature will protect our
lives. Donate your life; surrender your life for this service. Make your routine very easy. Make your mind
become slow, not fast. Manage few things. Suppose you have to prepare food for half and hour, do not
become cooking conscious. At the time of cooking, keep giving pure vibrations to nature. Nature will be
receiving pure vibrations from you.
Making a plan of how to spread good wishes
While going out, on a journey, feel that vibrations are coming out of me and spreading in the whole
world. Make a plan of how you can best live your life. Suppose you have to clean your house, you have
to wash clothes, do just one practice. Spread vibrations of good wishes and pure thoughts to nature
and people of the whole world.
Talk to nature: “Oh nature, you have been so nice to me throughout the whole cycle, you are like my
mother, you have looked after me so well, you have given me food, clothes, and a house. I am grateful
to you.
Talk to people: “Oh, you are all my brothers and sisters. I love you. Recognize your Father…. Now
come to Him. Talk to them in this way. Give your good feelings. Be great donor, be pure, be happy.
This is a good way to give good feelings, to nature, to all souls of this world. Great fruit for this service
will come to you. Let us now sit in one feeling that I am master Almighty. From Almighty Baba, rays of
might, a fountain of might are coming down to me.

Navaratri – Nine Goddesses – Shiv Shaktis
The Worship of the Feminine Qualities
Sister Jayanti: Edinburgh UK, 21st December 2002



Navaratri: The nine goddesses
Rebirth in the male and female form
Re-instating equal respect for female and male qualities
Navaratri comes twice a year and extends for a period of nine nights (that is, eighteen nights of very
specific holy festival and sacred worship). However, this period is not accorded to Krishna, Rama,
Narayan, Vishnu or Shankar, or the whole galaxy of the gods. It is reserved for the goddesses, twice a
year: springtime and autumn. These are the Navaratri celebrations (the celebration of nine nights).
The story here is a very interesting one about the goddesses, the Shaktis. They are remembered as
Shaktis and sometimes are prefixed with the word Shiva. Shiva is the name given to the Incorporeal,
the One Supreme, the One Divine, and you can see how the name Shiva and Jehovah are connected
together. The translation of the word Shiva is the ‘point’, something with no human form, just the Divine
light; another translation of the word Shiva is ‘Benefactor’, the one who gives benefit; thirdly, the
meaning as the Seed, the Creator, out of whom all Creation emerges – there is much significance
within this one word, Shiva.
Navaratri: The nine goddesses
In Navaratri, it is said that these goddesses were the Shiv Shaktis, (shakti means ‘power’ or ‘energy’):
the ones who are able to take God’s power and God’s strength. In particular if refers to the women, the
goddesses; the ones who were able to take God’s power at a time when humanity was in darkness
and, through receiving God’s power, were able to be the destroyers of evil and thereby bring back
righteousness and truth to the world. To me, this is not just a mythological story. It is very much a story
of today – it is a very powerful reminder and pointer to what needs to happen, not just within India or
the Indian diaspora, but also within humanity at large, because it does not only refer to women per se,
but actually refers to the feminine principle.
So often today, I hear this expression being used in the West: What is needed is the feminine principle,
the feminine energy, to come back into politics, economics and the situations of the world. Why?
Because the feminine energy epitomises the energy of compassion, care and love, all of which are
quite different from competition, conflict, and the current state of affairs. I am not trying to say that the
feminine energy is 100% pure – there are other factors to deal with also. What is very much needed in
this world of aggression and conflict is this power of the Shiv Shakti – the love, the compassion and the
benevolence. Each one of us can be a channel for that, to make a connection with the Supreme, the
Divine, Shiva, and draw that within the self so that the feminine energy can remove the darkness and
bring back the goodness.
I don’t think it is enough just to look at history. It is very important to learn the lessons and use those
lessons and see the significance now in life, and I see that this is the signal coming to us at this
moment of time. I see that we are at this point of transition: time of extreme dark, but within that
darkness there are little glimmers of hope, points of light. There are candles being lit here and there,
and this interest in the faiths of the world, the traditions of the world, is definitely one of the bigger
candles in the darkness.
It is not only for us to bring back the feminine energy, but also to bring us all back to the awareness of
the spiritual identity of the self so that it isn’t a battle of the sexes. It is really through partnership and
co-operation that the world can manage, not through battling, but through respect; love and cooperation. Returning to the spiritual identity really removes anything of the feminine aggression, which
sometimes comes up within the feminist movement, and equally it deals with all the egos that come up
in different ways.
Rebirth in the male and female form
Within the understanding of the story of birth and rebirth there would also be the understanding of birth
in a male form or birth in a female form. Then there is also the recognition that the spirit, the eternal
11
soul contains within itself the tendencies for action in both; birth as a male, or birth as a female,
depending on its particular karmic situation and the general pattern would be different. The body would
be described simply as the costume – no more, no less; an instrument. The soul is the being; the body,
the costume. In most cases, there would be one birth as a male, one birth as a female, probably
alternating in this way. At most, there would be a couple of births in one gender. When external or body
consciousness began at the beginning of Copper Age, it brought with it a shift in relationship, not only in
terms of spirit and body, but in particular, between men and women. The body and physical matter
became dominant and, with this, male dominance appeared. As a result, recorded human history is the
story of male dominance.
The patriarchal society started right at the start of the fall from grace, where there was a fall from the
divine state and the loss of purity. Within the Hindu scriptures, the second-class role for women comes
in at that point and women are not even given the right to worship and certainly not given the right to
carry out specific important ceremonies. Women in society were very much in the background and that
has continued through the Copper Age and Kaliyug (the Dark Age, the Iron Age, the age of
unrighteousness and irreligiousness) right to present times.
Now we reach the state where at the end of Kaliyug we have the worship of the goddesses of those
divine beings at Navaratri. The reality in society is that the image of the goddesses is lost (especially
when it comes to the way in which you treat your wife, sister or daughter) with the excuse: ‘Well, that is
history and mythology which is nothing to do with reality.’
Re-instating equal respect for female and male qualities
From my own experience of the women I know, who are now in their eighties, when talking about the
world at the start of the 20th Century, it seems that in the early nineteen hundreds women were only
being given a skeleton education with the sole purpose to become literate in order to run their
households. This was within upper class families – other families, of course, didn’t even receive that
much. Within the religious and spiritual scene, there was certainly no need for women to study the
scriptures in those times. There are some very derogatory statements in the Hindu scriptures about
women (in the Ramayana). These now have manifested at the end of Kaliyug when it is really quite a
dark picture.
Now, at the beginning of the 21st Century, only a few women in India have the right to education. There
is a huge amount of poverty and lack of education generally, but within that only a very marginal
percentage having all opportunities to get an education. Even at the highest educated level (and this I
would say from my own experience before my own spiritual awakening); it was always the father who
made decisions about a woman’s life. Then it would always be the elder brother, in lieu of the Father, if
he were not around. This still happens even in the 21st Century!
Within our own organisation, the dominant role for women is as teachers. This was part of the
philosophy of ‘affirmative action’, which the founder took in 1937 before the expression was actually
coined. Way back in the 1930s, Brahma Baba, the founder, had this vision of equality and wanted
women to have prominent roles as teachers so that the imbalance of centuries could gradually be
restored to a state of balance. Here in England in the early ‘70s, I was giving the foundation meditation
course to a western person from a scientific background that was seemingly very receptive. (He is still
with us 25 years later so he must have been receptive!)
Towards the end of the course, I had a chat with him to see whether there had been any difficult points
for him to accept, he said there had been and he had dealt with them. When I asked him to state a
particular problem, he said: It was quite difficult having a woman teaching me.’ He really wasn’t used to
that as a westerner. After I asked him how he had overcome that block, he replied: ‘It made a lot of
sense that I, the soul, must have been a female in some birth also. When I thought about that it got
me away from the male ego and I was able to be open and receptive to these teachings.’ I thought that
was very interesting because females have female ego blocks so it is not a prerogative of just one
gender, but the male ego block may be just one centimetre higher! So the idea that there are usually
alternating births is very interesting and it shows how the whole story of karma works its way through in
a very fascinating manner.

Worship worthy Stage:
Symbols and signs of gods and goddesses
On the path of bhakti, the worship worthy stage of Brahmins and golden aged deities is being spoken of
or worshipped in many ways. There are celebrations of specific events on the path of Brahmin life and
worship of particular individuals such as Brahma Baba, Mama and the 8 jewels. There are also the
scriptures, especially the Gita, that share the stories of the Confluence Age, and give different names to
different Brahmin actors in the wonderful drama of Brahmins reaching their perfect stage by the end of
the cycle. The following gives some idea of the diversity of symbols, stories and stages of worship
practiced on the path of bhakti. It also gives us a powerful mirror of the stage that Baba wants us to
attain before destruction.
Those who spin the discus of self-realization (Swadarshan chakradhari) become Emperors. Becoming
a Swadarshan chakradhari implies knowing your various roles in the entire cycle. If you make your life
worth diamonds (heera) now, you will play a hero part throughout the cycle. Keep your Brahmin form
and your deity form in front of you and check, how elevated you have been from the beginning to the
end. Then you will have great happiness and intoxication. The one who is making and the ones who
are becoming, both are special. BapDada feels very happy watching your two forms. Even though you
are number wise, you will become a deity, will you not? Even the deity with the last number will be in
the list of the worship worthy souls. - AM 13.1.83

Meditation Commentary: Reaching my Worship worthy Stage
I am the Holiest, Highest, Richest, Luckiest, Sweetest child of all
I am the holiest of all souls.
Baba, the Sun of purity is sparkling in Paramdham.
He sends loving rays of purity and power to me
He invites me to be beside him.
With all the titles of knowledge and yoga
I can see all these specialties in myself.
In the whole day, there are 24 hours.
Of these, 8 hours are for rest,
of the 16 remaining hours, I take 12 hours.
Then for those who have a lot of work of the intellect,
three hours concession can be given.
Then the Father, grants one hour as concession.
For 8 hours, I have all these titles of knowledge and yoga in the complete form
So that all souls experience and give the certificate
that all these specialties are there in me.
Only then can I attain 75% marks.
For pass with honour ones,
even the time of sleep is counted as yoga time. ..AM 24.6.74
Set yourself, whenever you want, wherever you want.
Use all the treasures.
At all times,
in all matters,
in all subjects,
in all specialties,
in all relationships,
I check myself
As bestower of blessings,
I sacrifice myself to you.
the one on whom you sacrifice yourself
gives you all the blessings and
makes you a bestower of blessings.
So, all the time, in every action, every thought,
I am fulfilling my promise..
My every thought, is the essence of being surrendered, and
sacrificed to the Father.
I check myself constantly like this, Maya will not dare to confront me,
she bows down again and again and takes leave.
I reach Paramdham in a second
Together we radiate powerfully like twin suns.
The holiest couple.
I see my entire future.
When I first descend to the corporeal world,
I am the holiest human,
a double crowned deity emperor.
My eyes shine with purity and my face and
forehead sparkles with the royalty of purity..
As I travel through the ages,
16
I witness my memorials being worshipped with utmost devotion, reverence, and love. Devotees chant
“You are viceless. we are vicious.
O lord, remove my sins”
At the end of time,
I come into direct contact with the Ocean of purity,
the one who is forever holy.
I die alive and lead a life of a lotus.
I become the holiest of all in an utterly religious world.
and then on I become an angel.
Beloved Baba,
You have made me a worthy of worship soul
MEDITATION COMMENTARY: ANCESTOR SOUL
A I, the ancestor soul, am the original foundation of this human creation. I emerge directly from the
Seed. I am the roots and the trunk of the tree of creation. I come in contact with souls, and fulfill their
pure desires and bestow blessings upon them. I become a flame and show the path to thirsty souls. I
become an immortal light, and bring souls out of darkness to the right destination. My attitude
transforms the atmosphere of the world, and with my vision I remind everyone of brotherhood.
I remind the whole creation that, their beloved Father has come and through my elevated actions, I
awaken the pure desires in the creation, to perform elevated activities and reform their character. My
uniqueness is the “subtle power” from which souls experience a special power through me. Everyone
has the power of facilities and the power of words but they lack the power of elevated thoughts, the
power of pure attitude, the vision of love and co-operation. Therefore I ignite the lamps of hope in my
creation for this attainment & bring them to the right destination. I belong to God! I am unique!
B I am a Confluence-aged Brahmin soul, I am knowledgeful. I have recognised my Father and my
third eye of knowledge has now opened, I know the 3 aspects of time and the 3 worlds too. On the
basis of knowledge and purity I make spiritual endeavor and become God’s helper in the task of world
renewal. In return I become the master of heaven for half the cycle and worship-worthy for half the
cycle.
In the copper age I am worshipped in the form of various deities. I am Goddess Lakshmi, an
embodiment of the jewels of knowledge. I bestow upon souls the unlimited wealth of spiritual
knowledge and decorate them with virtues.
In the form of Saraswathy, I am portrayed playing the sitar, being a goddess of wisdom I take souls
from the darkness of ignorance into the light of knowledge, awareness and realisation.
As Goddess Durga, I take divine power from God Shiva to remove all weaknesses from within.
As Vaishnavi, I am a symbol of purity radiating the light of purity empowering all souls to become full of
all virtues complete and viceless.
Often I am worshipped as deity Uma, I fill their hearts and minds with hope, zeal and enthusiasm
eliminating unhappiness and disheartment.
As Goddess Kali, I am fearless and courageous. I destroy all vices and impure motives deep within
souls. Viscious souls run away upon seeing my fearsome form. Remembrance of Shiv Baba is the
means of safety for me.
As Santoshi Maa, through my own specialty of contentment, I bestow upon all, feelings of well being
and deep contentment.
17
As Goddess Gayatri, I remove the darkness of sorrow and insecurity, and hence remove the bad
omens, and with my blessings and power, all experience true bliss and joy.
In my form as Amba being the world mother, I shower on all eternal blessings of peace and happiness
to all unhappy souls and fulfill their desires as Kamdenu Remembrance of ShivBaba and completely
surrendering to Him, become the basis of being worship-worthy for half the cycle. God the bestower,
makes his children almost worship-worthy as He is.
