THE IDENTIFICATION OF ASTEROID 1996 SK TO THE EXTINCT NUCLEUS OF COMET 5D/BRORSEN. L. NESLUSAN Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, Mile End Road, London, E1 4NS, United Kingdom; e-mail: ne@ta3.sk In our preliminary search for the meteors associated with a possible stream of comet 5D/Brorsen (in 1999), there were actually found seven candidate stream meteors in the photographic IAU MDC database. Meanwhile, Kostolansk\'{y} in his dissertation found 4 diffuse showers in the IAU MDC database associated to 4 NEAs. One of these was the shower associated with asteroid 1996 SK. It occured that the majority of meteors of this asteroid was identical to the meteors of 5D/Brorsen. This identity evoked an idea to identify asteroid 1996 SK to the non-active nucleus of disappeared comet 5D/Brorsen. In this presentation, some more details on a possible identification of both bodies are given.
