In August 27-30, 2013, the 24 th International Fair for Measurement, Instrumentation and
Automation (MICONEX 2013), which is the most influential fair for measurement, instrumentation and automation in Asia, was successfully held by China Instrument & Control
Society at China International Exhibition Center (old venue) in Beijing.
The MICONEX 2013 attracted nearly 500 Chinese and foreign companies from over 22 countries and regions, with about 10,000 types of new instrumentation products exhibited. They represent advanced technologies of measurement, instrumentation and automation in the world today. 24 high-level academic conferences (including summit) were also organized during the fair, which converged more than 2,000 famous experts and academic elites from over 10 countries and regions to discuss the latest trends and research achievements in measurement, instrumentation and automation. Besides, a variety of events were held during the fair, including supply-demand matching conference, press conference, specific interview, employment service for college graduates, technical training, industry photography show, demonstration zone for fast inspection of food quality, scientific apparatus exhibition zone, industrial robot spot demonstration, on-site membership registration and 3D printing exhibition. Those events attracted the active participation of visitors and were highly praised by both exhibitors and visitors.
Altogether 17,625 visitors attended the MICONEX 2013, totaling 32,044 person times. They were from a wide range of industries including petroleum, chemical industry, power, coal, metallurgy, non-ferrous metals, rail transit, automobile, new energy and light industry.

Events carried out during MICONEX 2013
24 high-level academic conferences (including summit) were organized during the fair, which converged more than 2,000 famous experts and academic elites from over 10 countries and regions to discuss the latest trends and research achievements in measurement, instrumentation and automation.
The topics for this year’s academic events were forward-looking: Smart City, Intelligent Community and New Industrial World; Coordination and
Innovation in Industrial Automation; Strategic Transformation of Manufacturing Industry and the
Industrial Internet of Things. Moreover, a variety of events were held during the fair, including supply-demand match meeting, press conference, specific interview, employment service for college graduates, technical training, industry photography show, demonstration zone for fast inspection of food quality, scientific apparatus exhibition zone, industrial robot spot demonstration, on-site membership registration and 3D printing exhibition. Those events attracted the active participation of visitors and were highly praised by both exhibitors and visitors.
Science and Technology Awarding Ceremony
The CIS Science & Technology Award is the highest technological award in the subject and industry of instrumentation. For the CIS Science & Technology Award this year, 15 experts formed a judging board and selected 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 awards for scientific and technological innovation, 23 awards for scientific and technological achievements and 29 awards for excellent products.
