Selection Criteria & Mission Focus For Junior School Teachers 1 SELECTION CRITERIA Junior School Teacher: P – 3 SC1 Evidence of active involvement in a Christian denomination and/or ability to support the Christian ethos of the College, including its worship and devotional programme. SC2 Demonstrated personal and interpersonal skills that foster effective learning partnerships with parents and other staff. SC3 Demonstrated ability to develop warm, caring relationships with students while maintaining a positive, focussed learning environment. SC4 Demonstrated use of a range of effective learning strategies to ensure the needs of all students in the classroom are met, especially those relating to early literacy and numeracy development and fostering active, experiential (play-based) learning. Evidence of a personal commitment to continuous self-evaluation and lifelong learning. SC5 Demonstrated skills and understanding in the implementation of school work programmes including the use of documented planning and monitoring processes to ensure high standards of learning occur. Familiarity with current QSA syllabuses and outcomes-based processes, particularly as they pertain to Early Childhood Education. Familiarity with implementation of the Primary Years Program of the International Baccalaureate and the ability to integrate the use of information technology into learning will be an advantage. SC6 Demonstrated skills needed to support the College’s co-curricular programme.
