School of Health in Social Science COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY Postgraduate Student Research Conference Thursday 5 May 2011, 9.15am – 5pm Cost: £5.00 for lunch and refreshments Aim This day conference provides an opportunity to hear about research projects undertaken by current MSc and PhD students at the University of Edinburgh. Student presenters will talk about research in progress, which will provide participants with opportunities to find out about how research is done as well as preliminary findings. Participants will be invited to contribute to discussion about individual papers and counselling research in general. Content A detailed programme will be available closer to the time. Papers cover a wide range of research topics in counselling and psychotherapy, including case studies from counselling work, research on counselling training and research applying the insights of counselling and psychotherapy to other contexts. Current postgraduate research is primarily qualitative and incorporates a variety of different approaches.
