ANTH 238: Introduction to Medical Anthropology___ 5. ________________________________________ 6. ________________________________________ Block III: Anthropological Perspectives on Global Health and Disease Globalization and Health ANTH 273, plus three additional courses selected from a menu emphasizing anthropological perspectives on health, medicine, and society, including cross-cultural approaches to health and illness, urban poverty and violence, pharmaceuticals and global health, psychology and culture, health and urban communities, arts in healing, fat and society, food and culture, medical anthropological use of alcohol, or a course on the anthropology of a specific region, such as Africa). Students can also take a course from the Human Biology concentration, including human adaptation, forensic anthropology, or human reproductive ecology, among others. 7. Other course possibilities include area studies, language, pre-approved study abroad courses, and up to two independent studies for thesis supervision.
