Product Name: ACI Go/No Go Current Status Switches
Model Number: A/CS (solid core) and A/SCS (split core)
Product Description: The A/CS and A/SCS are Solid State Current Switches with fixed
trip points of 0.5A and 2.5.A respectively. Each unit has in integral 35mm DIN Rail
mounting base and include a Red “Status” LED that will indicate whether the current is
above or below the fixed trip-point. They are offered with either Normally-Open (N/O) or
Normally-Closed (N/C) output configurations and are manufactured using high quality
components.
Product Application: These current switches should be used in applications in which a
“Go/No Go” current switch is required. A current switch can be used to monitor fan and
pump status, motors, compressors, and any other electrical equipment for “on or off”
status. A change in the operating current may indicate mechanical failure or that the unit
has been turned off.
How has this product been designed and manufactured to assist the contractor in
installation, maintenance and service for the product? The enclosure has a Din-Rail
mount built into the base of the unit. This saves time and material expense for the
contractor/installer. Plus, this product was designed to have a lower trip point and
higher amperage rating. It is rated up to 200 Amps (some models 250 Amps).
Conversely, some competitor’s models are rated only to 135 Amps. This means that for
ACI’s Current Switch, you do not have to purchase another Current Transformer to step
the current down to a manageable range for it to operate correctly.

The “L” version of the solid core A/CS has a trip point of .20 amps. This option is great
for applications that have lower amperage draws and do not allow the installer the option
of wrapping the power wire multiple times around the switch.
What installation benefits to the contractor can be derived from this product? The
enclosure is contoured to fit the installer’s fingers for tight fit applications. Also
previously mentioned, it has an integral Din Rail flange, Split Core design option, and
offers both N/O and N/C outputs. Most of these options allow for quicker installation
times.
What other cost saving benefits does the product offer? With low trip points and
higher amperage ratings, this product covers a broader range of applications. All ACI
Current Switches feature a LED for trip status. Plus, the aperture (hole) size is large
enough (.75”) to fit up to 350 MCM cable. These attributes allow for fewer items to be
stocked and part numbers to be registered for contractors and distributors.
