I am asking that both the senior and a parent sign the second page acknowledging your understanding of the expectations and consequences for the graduation ceremony. The acknowledgment must be turned in to the high school office by Thursday, May 27, 2010. Respectfully, Matt Bishop, Ph.D. Principal Dress Code Expectations Each senior will be provided with a cap and gown designed specifically for Carlisle High School…girls will wear a white cap and gown with red piping and the CHS Crest…boys will wear a red cap and gown with red piping and the CHS Crest Do not airbrush/draw/write anything on your cap prior to ceremony…we do not have extra caps this year since going with a permanent gown system Seniors shall wear the cap level with the floor…tassels shall hang over the left front edge Each senior will be required to dress appropriately for the ceremony Boys: Dark pants, white or light colored dress shirt, regular dark tie (no bow or string ties), and dark dress shoes (no gym shoes) Girls: White or light colored dress and white dress shoes (make sure dress does not hang below gown) Graduation Practice Expectations All seniors are required to attend graduation practice (any senior who does not attend the practice session will not be permitted to participate in commencement exercises) General Information No one is permitted to be on the gymnasium floor at any time (Lifetouch will be taking pictures of the senior receiving his/her diploma…pictures may be purchased from their website…information will be distributed) All Student Fee obligations must be met by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 24th (no student may participate in the graduation ceremony who still owes fees…no personal checks accepted) Seniors must report to the commons by 10:45 a.m. on graduation day (seniors seated on the west side of the gym will line up in the mathematics hallway…seniors seated on the east side of the gym will line up in the science hallway) Please park in the spots leading back to the football field In partnership with the family and community, the Carlisle Local School District’s mission is to focus on the needs of students in everything we do, while providing quality educational experiences in a positive, innovative, and safe learning environment. Bishop, Ph.D. Building Principal Rated EXCELLENT by the Ohio Department of Education and Recipient of the 2009 GOLD AWARD from High Schools That Work Please do not chew gum during the ceremony A program will be on your seat as you enter the gymnasium (please refrain from fanning yourself with your program during the ceremony) Behavioral Expectations Any senior under the influence of alcohol or drugs at either the graduation practice or ceremony will not be able to participate in the ceremony (authorities will be called immediately) We will enforce the Student Code of Conduct at graduation practice and the ceremony. Any senior using foul language, being uncooperative, or demonstrating a poor attitude will be asked to leave We will not tolerate ANY disruptions during the ceremony…if anyone (student, parent, guest, etc.) creates a disruption, we will stop the ceremony and have that person(s) escorted from the gym Beach balls and “silly string” are strictly prohibited Disruptions during the ceremony include but are not limited to: leaving your seat during the ceremony, blowing up a beach ball, using a noise maker, verbal disruptions, etc. Tassels are turned at the end of the ceremony after your student body president says a few words and reads your class motto If you bring your own confetti, poppers, etc., you will need to have it in a small Ziploc style bag with your name on it…hand it to the teacher seated at the end of your row in the commons when arriving for the ceremony…the teacher will gather bags from their row and place it under his/her chair in the gym…at the conclusion of the Alma Mater, the teacher will pass the bags down the line…take your bag (make sure your name is written on it) and pass the others down (Confetti, poppers, etc. are only used at the end of the ceremony following the reading of the class motto by your student body president and the turning of your tassel) Once you are in the hallway in line and ready to proceed to the gymnasium, you are not to have anything on your person…staff members will check each student prior to leaving for the gym Please, do not be the first graduate, parent, family member to be removed from the ceremony ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ THIS SHEET IS DUE TO THE HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE BY THURSDAY, MAY 27, 2010 GRADUATION EXPECTATIONS I have been informed of and agree to follow the established Graduation Expectations for the May 29, 2010 Commencement at Carlisle High School. __________________________________________ Senior Student Signature ___________________ Date __________________________________________ Senior Parent Signature ___________________ Date In partnership with the family and community, the Carlisle Local School District’s mission is to focus on the needs of students in everything we do, while providing quality educational experiences in a positive, innovative, and safe learning environment.
