Artificial Wetland Builds Green Ecology
Kuang Hua backyard park has an artificial wetland. Use
idled space on campus and setup natural ecology sewage
purification system. It not only accomplishes sewage
treatment and reuse purpose; at the mean time, it also
provides green scenic environment for artificial wetland
ecology system on campus. In here, this is also a place where
natural science teachers take students to perform water
inspection. Through inspection, students understand water
purification effect of aquatic plants. At the back, there is a
scenic ecology pool. It not only purifies water, there are
fishes and turtles that can be used for watering after
purification.
I. Background Introduction
Tainan City Kuang Hua High School was established in
year 1929, and has 85 years of history. In the past 10 years,
this school has always maintained natural ecology on campus,
cherished every energy resource, and developed course
programs and teaching activities in every continuing
education; furthermore, establishing green ecology learning
campus is our major development goal.
A Kingdom that Loves Butterflies
This school has established environmental continuing
and ecological recycling learning space, which combines
“people” and “course programs”. It also guides teachers and
students to directly discover questions and explore solutions
in campus environment, and to realize and change “people to
environment” hobbit and concept. By nourishing this
school’s teachers and students the concept to cherish natural
resources, we together build energy-saving and
environmentally-healthy and excellent environment. Based
on green ecology, energy-saving and carbon-reduction, and
health improvement, assisted with inspiring aesthetics, and
service learning, we build an intellectual beauty, elegant
beauty, vigorous beauty, and confident beauty campus
atmosphere. The continuing campus prospect is illustration in

Ever since Kuang Hua has butterfly garden, no matter
senior high school or kindergarten children all love observing
butterflies, take care of butterflies, understand butterflies’
food seeking, and butterflies’ entire life. Child care division
and kindergarten children together create “A King that Loves
Butterflies” story. Performing drama with the heart of
butterfly lovers. We hope to use little efforts, and wake
everyone to care for the earth, cherish butterflies, and
together discover kingdom of butterflies.

Four students from Kuang Hua general course
diversified intelligence class was led under a natural science
teacher to think of a replacement project for energy. Utilizing
bike’s kinetic energy, dissolve hydrogen under water into
usable kinetic energy, and solve future energy’s issue.

Little Happiness Take a Walk on Forest Path
Future Hydrogen power has unlimited supply. When it is
burned, it only emits water gas, which will not cause air
pollution or damage atmosphere and cause the earth warming.
This is an energy-saving and carbon-reduction invention, and
opens up new foundation for “Hydrogen Economics”. Hence,
we also apply patent right for this experiment’s model.
Hopefully we made contribution to big nature’s environment.
After noon, warm sunlight in southern Taiwan is like a
fireball.
Taking a walk on a pathway in the forest on campus,
blown slow warm wind made forest shadow fly subtly.
Walking on the pathway, enjoy the fun by looking
water-permeable bricks. These are little ceramic boards made
by school alumni. Every piece of little brick has its own
painting which portrays different stories. Some are naughty,
some realistic, some warm, and some post-modern. Looking
at these pictures. Smile. This is a type of little happiness in
life.
Brining back the Beauty of Straws
Except for eating rice, almost very few people had real
interactions with straws. Even farmers use open burning
method to handle straws and cause pollution. This school
builds mixed media workshop. By reusing straws, we use
other natural materials for our teaching. Using group team
learning method, we guide students to create innovative
works using straws. At the mean time, departed from
traditional thought, we use straws to design lamps, floor
lamps, and palace chair, and give new meaning for simplicity
to the works.
Sending Love Out
Using our expertise to assist citizens in the community,
and establishing environmentally-preservative volunteers’
action and implementation capability so as to promote
environmental education. We hold this type of activity every
semester. We bring students and their parents to the mountain,
or sea side, or community to perform volunteers’’ service.
Everyone can all make an effort, contribute to people,
improve and clean environment, and fill with appreciation
and joy in the heart. By doing that, we can reduce burden for
the earth.
Besides this, hotel and restaurant service students write
creative rice foods recipes. Fashion apparel students adopt
crossroad as straw image, and design apparel and relative
accessories. Reuse straws and turn it into one of aesthetics in
life.
