Update
ZGEN v1.60 is an file and archive management program for
MS-DOS based systems. Currently, ZGEN supports .ZIP, .LZH,
ARC .PAK .SDN and .ARJ archives. ZGEN features a
no-nonsense directory display and subdirectory tree display.
ZGEN also supports a mouse.
ZGEN requires at least MS-DOS 3.0, A listing program, such as
LIST.COM, PKZIP.EXE/PKUNZIP.EXE for .ZIP archive management,
LHA for .LZH archive management, PAK for .ARC and .PAK
archive management, and ARJ for .ARJ archive management
Functions of ZGEN:
o View archive file directories.
o View text file with an external file viewer.
o View text files within archives.
o Copy files.
o Extract files from archives.
o Delete files.
o Delete files from archives.
o Move files.
o Create archives.
o Print files with optional support for MS-DOS' PRINT.COM
o Edit PRINT.COM's file queue.
o Edit archive file description.
o Edit file description using 4DOS compatible descript.ion
files.
o Alter file attributes.
o Execute programs and run batch files while ZGEN swaps to
EMS, XMS or disk.
o Execute a program for a file based on file extension.
o Create or edit disk volume labels.
o Create directories.
o Sink entire directories.
o Copy entire directories including lower subdirectories like
XCOPY.
o Format floppies with external program.
o User definable function keys for external programs.
o Find file function that can search normal files and
archive directories.
o Extract passworded files from ARJ and ZIP archives.
o Fully configurable archive command lines.
o Configurable directory sorting methods.
o Context sensitive help
o Configurable display colors
o Uses country specific information for time/date displays
ZGEN is distributed under the SHAREWARE concept. Refer to
the documentation for details. ZGEN registration is $25 in
North America, $28 elsewhere.
