Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time
PASTORALLY SPEAKING – This weekend we celebrate the Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary
Time. Our Scriptures remind us to use our gifts and talents in service of one another. In this way
we will be called “Children of the Light” and be ready for the Lord’s return.

OFFERTORY COLLECTION

Next weekend the annual collection for the Campaign for Human Development will be
taken up. This campaign helps to end poverty and injustice in America.
Eucharistic Ministers for next weekend are: 5:00 p.m. –Charlie, Linda; 9:00 a.m. – Joe, Dot,
and Susan.
Lectors for next weekend are: 5:00 p.m. – Deborah; 9 a.m. – Laura.
Confirmation – a preparation class is being formed for the fall of 2012. If you are attending
Catholic School in the 8th grade or higher, please call the rectory and leave your name and phone
number so that you can be part of this class.
2nd Annual Pot Luck Dinner – we wish to thank all those who helped with the dinner; to those
who purchased tickets for the Dinner for Two Basket and for the 50/50 raffle. The basket raffle’s
profit was $112 and the 50/50 profit was $43. We look forward to the 3rd annual Pot Luck Dinner
next November. Congratulations to Pauline Mutchka and Marie Beldyk – our raffle winners.
The Sanctuary Candle is lit from Nov. 5th – 19th in memory of Alice & Patricia Murtha by the
Dudlek Family.
We will be learning and practicing the new music associated with the Mass of Christ the Savior on
Thursday's nights at 7:30 PM in November (the 3, 10, 17). All parishioners are welcome to attend.
Ride to Church Needed – Mr. William Dawe of Harbor Estates (Reybold Drive) needs a ride to church on
the weekend. If you can assist Mr. Dawe, please call him at 834-9798. Thank you.
Knights of Columbus - The Bishop Becker Knights of Columbus Council will be hosting a
Memorial Mass for our brethren who have passed before us. The Mass will be at Holy Spirit on
Tuesday, 11/15 at 7 PM. All are welcome to attend. The Knights of Columbus will be selling
Christmas Cards after Mass on Saturday, 11/12 and Sunday 11/13. Please support our Knights in
their service to our community.
Christmas Bazaar - “Winter Wonderland” at St. Peter the Apostle Parish, 5th & Harmony Streets, New
Castle on Friday 11/18 ~ 6PM – 9PM, Saturday 11/19 ~ 11AM – 6PM, and Sunday 11/20 ~ 9AM – 5PM.
Arts & Crafts, Religious Items, Secret Santa, Homemade Baked Goods & Candy, Grand Prize, White
Elephant, Bows & Wreaths, Tomboli, Vendors, Post Office (gifts from around the world). Saturday Lunch
with Santa, Café - Salads, Soups & Sandwiches Sunday ~ Noon-6PM ~ Spaghetti Dinner, (Take-out
available for Spaghetti Dinner).
Mount Aviat Academy’s Annual Christmas Bazaar - Don’t miss this fun holiday event for the
whole family! Join us for MAA’s Annual Christmas Bazaar on November 19th from 10:00 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. The Christmas Bazaar features: Pictures with Santa, Nevada and 50/50 raffle tickets, a
children’s bazaar run by 8th grade students, delicious baked and homemade goods, including our
famous cream puffs, silent auction, white elephant treasure room, and so much more! MAA is
located at 399 Childs Road, Childs, MD—just a few minutes from Newark!
