Passport Verification The Special Branch of Delhi Police is functioning at Police Bhawan, Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi and deals with the verification of passport applications received on-line (www.passportindia.gov.in) through Passport Seva Kendras located at (1) Aggarwal Tower, Plot No. 2, District Centre, Shalimar Place, Outer Ring Road (North-West), ( 2) Herald House, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi and (3) Hudco Trikoot-III, Bhikaji Cama Place, R.K. Puram, New Delhi. The detailed procedures, instructions and documents required for submitting of application (on-line) for Indian Passport, can be seen at the website (www.passportindia.gov.in) of Ministry of External Affairs, GOI, New Delhi. The following formalities are to be complied with by the passport applicant at the time of police enquiry:1. Birth Proof: - Birth Certificate (photocopy) issued by Municipal Authority or any office authorized to issue Birth Certificate (who born on or after 26/01/1989). School Leaving certificate/secondary school leaving certificate/certificate of recognized boards/institutions from the school last attended by the applicant (who born before 26/1/89). Affadavit sworn before a Magistrate stating date/place of birth by illiterate or semi-illiterate applicants (Less than 5th class). 2. Stay/Residence Proof/Nationality:One of the following documents is required: Telephone/Electricity/Water Bills. Statement of Running PSU Bank Accounts. Income Tax Assessment Order. Spouse’s Passport Copy, Parent’s Passport Copy in case of minors. Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC). Service Identity Cards issued by State/Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Local bodies or Public Limited Companies SC/ST/OBC Certificates Freedom Fighter Identity Cards Arms Licenses Property Documents such as Pattas, Registered Deeds etc. Pension Documents such as Ex-Servicemen’s Pension book/Pension Payment Order, Ex-Servicemen’s Widow/Dependent Certificates, Old Age Pension Order, and Widow Pension Order. Income Tax Identity (PAN) cards. Bank/Kisan/Post Office Passbooks Student Identity Cards issued by recognized educational institutions. Marriage certificate or combined affidavit (husband/wife) duly attested by Notary as per prescribed format (in case of change of surname of female passport applicant after marriage). Character & Antecedents Verification The Special Branch also conducts verification of character and antecedents of candidates appointed in Govt./Semi-Govt, Public Sector Undertakings and other departments which have been brought under the scheme of verification of character and antecedents by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Special Branch conducts verification of private firms including its proprietor/directors on the request of Govt. Organizations like Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, and Armed forces after obtaining specified verification charges i.e. Rs. 250/- in respect of individual and Rs.500/- in respect of each firm through demand draft of State Bank of India, in the name of Dy.Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, New Delhi. The individual has to furnish his stay/residence proof (details of documents required for verification as in the case of passport verification). As regards verification of firms (whose request forwarded by Govt. Agencies), the photocopies of documents i.e. TIN Number, Registration Certificate of firm, Income Tax, Lease Deed, Ownership documents, Rent Agreement etc are required. As a follow up action, travelling facilities between the two countries were given by starting a train “SAMJHOTA EXPRESS” so that Nationals of both the countries can visit/meet their relatives residing in India & Pakistan. CIVIL AUTHORITY The Dy. Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Delhi Police is the civil authority appointed in 1974 and he is empowered to impose restrictions on the movements of Pak Nationals as far as Delhi is concerned. The office of DCP/SB is at Delhi Police Bhawan, Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi-110002. ISSUANCE OF RRP DCP/Special Branch as a civil authority issues R.R.P (Regular Residential Permit) to the Pak National who visit Delhi if he/she has been issued visa, first place as Delhi by Indian High Commission, Islamabad, Pakistan. Pak National is required to report to Pak Section/Special Branch, Ground Floor at Delhi Police Bhawan on arrival within 24 hours of reaching Delhi and submit two photographs, obtain a Regular Residential Permit and give the correct address of stay in Delhi. 1. Any change in address during the stay should be immediately reported in Pak Section. 2. Visits outside Delhi are not allowed except to the places mentioned in the visa. 3. All departures are to be reported in this office prior to departure. 4. Application for extension of visa, additional place and change of route must be submitted to the M.H.A., NDCC-II, Building, 1st and 2nd Floor, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi-110001 from 9.30 AM to 11.30 AM on any working day. 5. Pak Nationals cannot engage themselves in any service or trade without prior permission of the civil authority. 6. Contravention of visa rules is an offence under the Foreigners Act is punishable with 5 years, R-I & fine. 7. Loss of Passport or other travel documents should be immediately reported to the nearest Police Station. 8. In case of any problem please contact Inspector Pak. 9. 30 days Visa can be extended by DCP/SB on medical grounds, if medical certificate is issued/countersigned by Govt. medical attendant/reputed Hospitals mentioning disease and fact that he/she is unable to travel to Pakistan. The Pak National who overstays or does not register himself within 24 Hrs. of his arrival in Delhi will have to pay 30 Dollar or equivalent to Indian currency as fine. A Pak National comes in Delhi on a valid visa wants to avail any visa related service like visa extension, Additional place etc., he would visit bureau of Immigration site www.boi.gov.in and apply online for the required service. A system generated date and time will provide to Pak National and on this date service seekers will visit the office of Pak Section, Special Branch at Asaf Ali Road, Delhi with the print of his/her online application alongwith original documents and one spare set of photocopies. Further procedure for visa related services will be pursued by Pak Section, Special Branch as per rule.
