Overview
Over 4 years of successful working experience and 2 ½ years management and leadership
experience with a reputation for meeting the most challenging organizational goals and
objectives. A pragmatic and focused individual recognized for successful operation of
projects. A proven and VERIFIABLE record for:







Introducing Digital Techniques during the periods of analog methods in the projects
which resulted in reducing the timeline of process from 24 hours to 12 hours.
Streamlining the operational process of the satellite data processing thereby increasing
the frequency of the forecast system.
Introducing the state-of-the-art technologies in the dissemination of the advisory
services to the fishermen community that made significant impact on the delivery
chain
Imparting training to international scientists/ staff on the generation of the fishery
forecast using Image Processing and GIS techniques.
Managing and archiving the digital database of satellite data products including
raw data sets, processed and final products
Preparation of project proposals on Remote Sensing and GIS for various
consultancy works and training programmes
Managing a team of members that enabled timely and reliable fishery forecast which
attracted the interest of international community and also became one of the
“Common Minimum Programme (CMP)” of Government of India
Professional Experience
Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), 2001 – Till date
SCIENTIST ‘C’ – Started career in this grade from July 01, 2008 onwards with new aims
and objectives
SCIENTIST ‘B’ - Completed 3 years of career in this grade. Gained scientist-in-charge
status of the Potential Fishing Zone (PFZ) mission. Participated in the complete
revitalization of the project. Took lead in the creation of digital database that is crucial for
the generation of the PFZ Advisories/Fishery Forecast. As an in-charge, took major role
in scrutinizing and sanctioning of projects related to the PFZ Mission
Took major role in assessing the benefits attained by the user community by the use of
these advisories (Details of the results can be provided, if required). Prepared various
project proposals for undertaking consultancy projects, for providing training
programmes, etc. Participated in various National and International Workshops and
presented the activities of the PFZ Mission and the benefits gained by the fishermen
community
SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT ‘B’ – Completed 4 years of career with the same
organisation. Stood top in a team of 06 members and led the team in the absence of Team
Lead. Used my skills in analysing the multi-date satellite data sets for providing remote
sensing inputs for various real-time projects viz. “Operationalisation of Bhavanapadu
Fishing Harbour”, “Study of Halida Harbour using Remote Sensing and GIS”, etc.
Took the lead role in creation of various shapefiles, weekly thrice, for providing the same
in the Web-GIS Page of INCOIS website using Arc-Info. Arc IMS has been used
for hosting the Web GIS services. Created various maps, vector coverages
(Dangles removal, cleaning, building, assigning attributes, etc.) by digitization of
charts using Arc Info and more works on day to day basis. Involved in various
consultancy project works and used the GIS and Digital Image Processing Techniques
(Rectification, Geo-referencing, Enhancement, Data Fusion, Data classification, etc)
