What can parents and professionals do to support pride? What do we do that undermines pride? This workshop challenges some of the present orthodoxy regarding disability and incorporates the growing sense of “disability pride” with-in the disability movement. TEACHING PRIVACY & CONSENT Privacy & consent (both giving & withholding) are key to safe and healthy relationships. How do we assess and teach these skills? WHAT & WHEN TO TEACH CHILDREN & TEENS Dave will outline key topics for children to learn, and how to address developmental vs. chronological differences.
