First International Conference on

Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems

Venue

The European Space Agency (ESA), European Commission (EC) and Advanced

Satellite Mobile Systems Task Force (ASMS-TF) are organising the First

International Conference on Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems (ASMS Conference

2003). The Conference will be held on 10-11 July 2003 at ESRIN in Frascati (Italy).

Scope

The increasing relevance of satellite mobile communications, their convergence with terrestrial mobile systems, broadcasting systems and multimedia applications, will form the framework for this first ASMS Conference.

The goal is to provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of the different aspects related with advanced satellite mobile communications, from the market perspective to recent advances in R&D..

There will be opportunity for the demonstration of relevant projects, technologies and trials.

The Conference will feature:

 Lectures by invited speakers

 Contributed papers

 Poster papers, exhibits, trials and demonstrations

Submission of Abstracts

Presentations will be accepted on the basis of abstracts of 600-800 words and may be submitted by using the on-line web form ( http://www.esa.int/conferences/asms03 ).

The Abstract should consist outline the work to be presented, the objectives and the achieved results.

Selection of papers will be made on the basis of originality and clarity of the ideas presented and relevance to advance satellite mobile communications.

Authors will be notified of the selection of their contribution by 15 April 2003 .

Authors whose abstracts have been accepted will receive further instructions for the preparation of their final paper.

The Proceedings will be available at the Conference. It is essential that all manuscripts be with the Conference Secretariat by 15 May 2003 at the latest.

Advance Programme and Registration

The Conference Advance Programme containing also details of the Registration procedure and Local Arrangements will be issued in May 2003 .
