(“The Better Blanket”)
The double net erosion control blanket shall be a
machine-produced mat of 100% agricultural
weed-free straw with an expected longevity of up
to 12 months. (Longevity may vary due to
climatic conditions, geographic location, and
elevation). The blanket shall be of a consistent
thickness with straw spread evenly throughout the
entire blanket. The blanket shall be covered on
the top and bottom with polypropylene netting
having an approximate .50 inch x .50 inch mesh
with photodegradable accelerant to provide
breakdown within 6-18 months. The blanket shall
be sewn together on 2.0 inch centers with
photodegradable thread.
“The Better Blanket” shall meet requirements established by the Erosion Control Technology
Council (ECTC) Specification and the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway
Administration’s (FHWA).
“The Better Blanket” shall conform to the following properties:
