VARIATIONS IN STANDARD HOUSING AND/OR HUSBANDRY

Standard ULAR-provided husbandry and care of laboratory animals in the vivarium consists of the

Standard species-appropriate caging (solid-bottom cages for rodents)
Primary housing space and secondary (housing room) temperature and humidity levels
conforming to specifications in the Guide
Species-appropriate physical/psychological enrichment and exercise
Standard food and tap water provided ad-libitum
12-hour light-dark cycle
ULAR-determined standard cleaning and sanitation schedule
Researchers planning any variation of the items listed above, or any other deviation from
standard ULAR-provided husbandry and care of research animals must provide the following
information:
