Proposed Curriculum Revisions
A summary of the proposed changes follows:
1. Change the course title of 36-411, Introduction to Guidance and Counseling to
Counseling Psychology I. This is the first course in a sequence. “Counseling
Psychology II” is the name of the second course. The change will make the sequence
more obvious.
2. Change the total number of “free” electives from 32 hours to 31 hours. This will
reduce the total number of hours required from 121 to 120 hours.

An overview of counseling principles and techniques. Instruction includes intensive
training in basic listening and interview skills. Prerequisite: Psychology 201. Credit,
three hours.
