Queen Rania AL-Abdullah hospital for children Amman-Jordan Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Hospital for children was established in January 2010 in Amman , with capacity of 200 beds , it has all the pediatric subspecialties including renal , pulmonolgy , hematology-oncology , neurology , neonatology , endocrinology , gastroenterology , metabolic , genetics, immunology-allergy , general pediatric surgery , orthopedic , ENT , ophthalmology with BM transplant unit . It is accredited by the Jordan Health Care Accreditation Commissions and ISO. It received referrals from all the regions of Jordan. Our PICU has 18 beds (12 beds, 4 incubators and 2 isolation rooms), it specializes in the comprehensive care of all critically ill pediatric patients from the age of one day to 14 years with single and multiple system failure to save their lives and function. These include those experiencing complex pulmonary, renal, neurological, hematological 3 problems. In addition to trauma and post surgical patients who require advanced medical, nursing or respiratory care. . The administrative services to the patients care include the followings: 1-Assessment, diagnosis, treatment and planning. 2- Provision of close observation and continuous hemodynamic monitoring. 3- Provision of mechanical ventilation for patients with respiratory failure. 4- Provision of emergency medical interventions and resuscitation. Procedures I practiced in PICU are: 1-managing conventional and high frequency oscillatory ventilators ( sensor med A ) . 2- Central venous catheter insertion including femoral and internal jugular veins. 3- Acute dialysis lines insertion, 4- Chest tube insertion. 5-Elective and emergency endotrachial intubations. 6- Using vasoactive drugs, paralytic agents and sedative analgesics . My responsibilities include daily morning report meetings , daily major rounds in PICU .
