Ghost Research Society Press
The Ghost Research Society Press has been publishing books on the paranormal,
supernatural and the mysterious since 2004 and currently has eight titles in print. The
titles are listed on the Ghost Research Society Press page at:
http://www.ghostresearch.org/press. While are emphasis for new titles is ghosts,
hauntings, poltergeist phenomena, the supernatural and the mysterious, we are always
willing to possibly entertain other subjects.

We currently have our books printed by Lightning Source, Inc. the world’s largest
print-on-demand book printer in the world. Print on demand means your book never
goes out of print and is printed on demand with orders from bookstores or the Internet.
All new authors’ get their set-up costs, and free listing in Lightning Source, Inc.’s
catalog which will list your book at Barnes and Noble and all online book distributors
such as amazon.com, borders.com and barnesandnoble.com.
Books are sold to authors for 60% off the cover price which means that you make
an additional 10% commission on those books you sell yourself. Some other occult
publishing companies offer the books at a 50% discount which means after you mark up
the book the additional 50% to sell for the list price and include the shipping fee, you
actually lose money on those books you order through them. We feel that the author
should make something on those books ordered directly through the publisher and
therefore sell them to the authors for a 60% discount.
Also included is listing your book on Bowker’s listing for ISBN and you almost
immediately will see sales through the Internet. Compensation checks will be mailed
directly to the author when sales are generated. Your book will be listed on the GRS
Press page. The GRS website has an extremely high volume of browsers throughout any
given day. We can also help you set up book signings with major bookstores in your
area.
The only charge is that you must order a minimum of 50 copies on your first order
at 60% off the cover price plus a $25.00 shipping/handling fee. After the initial 50 copy
order, there is no minimum. If you are local to the Chicagoland area, we can help you
additionally in setting up book fairs, selling your books on our ghost tours, Excursions
Into The Unknown, Inc., and other local events throughout the year.
Book orders can be paid by check, money order or Discover, MasterCard or Visa,
however there is an additional 3% fee added to credit card orders. Once the book is sent
to the printer, turn around is usually 3 days depending on their volume at any given time.
Proofs can be generated for $30 plus shipping and revisions to either interior or cover
designs is $40 each.
Print on demand is the way of the future. If you have an idea for a book, please
send it to dkaczmarek@ghostresearch.org in Microsoft Word and we will be happy to
look at the proposal for you and response in a week or two depending on our current
work load. There are no contracts to sign; just an email agreement to allow us to publish
your book is all that is needed. However if after the book is published and printed you
are not happy with it for some reason, we will make every effort to correct and modify it
to your satisfaction. If all of our efforts fail, you will be responsible for any and all costs
incurred by the Ghost Research Society Press including, but not limited to, ISBN
assignment, set-up costs and time for work performed. However, we believe you will be
absolutely satisfied with the final work as we make every effort to design and publish
quality material that will sell very well in today’s marketplace.
Please refer to the Lightning Source website for templates for the interior text of
your book, requirements for black and white pictures and the template for the cover of the
book. Once you have finished the interior and exterior as instructed by Lightning Source,
Inc., please send the finished cover and interior in .pdf format only. If the book is very
large, Dropbox can be used to send the files to me directly.
If you wish to have the book sold on Kindle, kindly that along, ready to upload to
Kindle and it will be listed there at no additional charge. Just be sure to suggest a price
for Kindle.
