The Loper Men are pre-seasoned
ranked 28th in the nation, Raymond and
Nadella finished the fall season as the
#2 ranked doubles team in the country
after upsetting the #1 nationally-ranked
doubles team (Queens College, NY) in
the Elite 8. During the 2010-2011
season, the Loper Men were regional
champions, earning their first berth to
the NCAA Sweet 16 since 2007.
Currently, all 6 varsity players are
ranked in the top 20 in the central
region.
The Loper Women are pre-seasoned
ranked 27th in the country. The 2011
Loper Women’s team were coming off
of back-to-back Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference (RMAC)
championships. With five freshmen in
the lineup, the Lopers continued their
string of successes, going 6-0 and
winning the RMAC regular season
championship. This past fall, #1 Singles,
Vanessa Gunawan, finished in 7th place
at the national championships in
Mobile, AL. Gunawan only lost 11 total
games to win the regional tournament,
qualifying her for nationals.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Loper tennis has a long, ongoing tradition of great success, on and off the court. To
achieve this level of excellence, UNK tennis continues to search for additional
scholarship dollars to aid in support of current athletes and recruitment of future
athletes. Any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated by the Loper Tennis
Program.
