NPS Mountain and Moorland Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be
registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. Qualifying
rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non members but only ponies owned by
adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship
Show at Malvern from 5th - 7th August 2014. The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify
for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified.
NPS Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS.
Ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony
section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud
Books. Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International
or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Ponies must be plaited. Qualifying rounds are open to ponies owned by NPS members
and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the
competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 5th – 7th August 2014. The highest placed pony, if
owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may go no lower than third place if the first and
second ponies owned by an NPS member have qualified
NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the
NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members,
are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show.
NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal
Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. A valid
membership card must be in the rider’s/handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request
by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner’s membership card is
not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required
membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the
qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The
Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for
Silver Medal Championships. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be
held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 5th – 7th August 2014.
This show is affiliated to the B.S.P.S and all persons entering competing, showing or otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S.
classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to the Rules of the B.S.P.S., including the disciplinary
procedures, and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S.
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Classic Security UK Ltd Challenge, the highest placed pony in the Lead Rein, First
Ridden, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, Open Show Pony and Open Show Hunter Pony classes that has not qualified for the
2014 HOYS in the appropriate class will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the BSPS Classic
Security UK Ltd Challenge, the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Black Country Saddles Best Rider of the Year. The best rider in the Lead Rein, First
Ridden, Lead Rein Hunter Type classes and Mixed Height Open Classes will qualify.
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Premier League. The 1st to 4th placed ponies in the Lead Rein, First Ridden and Lead
Rein Hunter Type classes, and 1st to 4th in Mixed Height Open Classes will qualify.
This show is a qualifier for the 2014 BSPS Summer Championships Show to be held at Arena UK. The first and second
prizewinners in classes 12 & 13 will qualify. In MIXED HEIGHT CLASSES 15, 18 & 19 the 1st. 2nd. 3rd. and 4th.
placed ponies will qualify for the B.S.P.S. Championships Show, provided the animal is registered in accordance with Rules
23 and 28 and ridden by a B.S.P.S. member.
This show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on 13 th – 17th August 2014. The two
highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.

Ponies never to have won a first prize of £5 or more in Leading Rein classes or qualified for the NPS/Micor

These classes are affiliated to the British Miniature Horse Society, all classes will be run under their rules. Only
registered horses owned by a BMHS member may enter. Owners, exhibitors and handlers must be current
members and have paid the appropriate BMHS 2014 showing levy. Horses to report for measuring half an hour
prior to classes unless a 2014 measurement card is held. Classes 22 – 27 are qualifiers for the Royal International
Horse Show 2014, the first horse in each class will qualify, or if already qualified the highest to fourth place only
will qualify.

NURSERY STAKES. Ponies not exceeding 133cms, rider not to have attained their 12th birthday

OPEN MIXED HEIGHT. Ponies not exceeding 153cms. Riders must jump in the correct height
section and be the correct age for the animal they ride. Riders may ride more than one pony in an amalgamated
class providing the animals are in different height sections.

NPS/ PRP EQUESTRIAN RESCUE M&M WORKING HUNTER PONY ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE
SHOW CHAMPIONSHIP
To be run under National Pony Society rules 2014. Open to pure bred registered M&M stallions, mares and
geldings, five years old or over. The owner must be a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS for the pony to enter
this competition. Riders may only ride one pony in each class. The highest placed pony from each class to qualify
for the final at Hickstead. At the final riders must also be NPS members.

shall in any way be held responsible or accountable for any theft, accident, injury, loss or damage
(howsoever this may be caused) to any exhibit, person, animal, property, vehicles brought on to the
showground, any premises used in conjunction with, arising out of or attainable to the show. It shall be a
condition of entry that each entrant or spectator shall indemnify the show organisers and proprietors
against any legal proceedings arising from any accident or misdemeanour. NPS Area 20 is covered by
Public Liability insurance. Competitors should ensure that they hold adequate third party insurance cover
in respect of any accident caused by themselves, their family, or helpers, their vehicles or animals when
on the showground.
The Judge’s decision is final. The class ends when the judge dismisses the class.
Stallions and colts, 2 years old and over must be suitably bitted and must be in possession of a current
NPS or appropriate breed society licence unless otherwise governed by their individual Breed Society.
In all cases, whips/canes must not exceed 30” in length.
Objections to be made in writing to the show secretary, together with a deposit of £40, within one hour of
the disputed event. If the objection is upheld the deposit will be forfeited.
Correctly secured current British Standard skull/riding hats must be worn at all times when mounted.
Handlers of ponies in the In Hand classes aged 14 years and under must wear correctly secured British
Standard skull/riding hats.
If for any reason the show has to be cancelled, only half the entry fee will be refunded. In no other case will
any entry fee be refunded.
In all M & M classes, ridden and in hand, ponies must be shown as recommended by their breed society
rules, and are restricted to the heights laid down by their appropriate breed societies.
All exhibitors must be in control of their animals at all times and any animal considered to be constituting a
danger will be asked to leave the showground immediately.
No telephone entries. Entries taken on the day are cash only.
The show organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason.
The committee reserve the right to substitute judges without warning or amalgamate classes due to
insufficient entries in one class.
All dogs must be kept on leads.
Riders of stallions should be not less than 11 years of age at 1st January of the current year when riding
small breeds, and not less than 14 years of age when riding large breeds.
Handlers of stallions and colts must have attained their 14th birthday by 1st January of the current year.
