He is my great grandfather. He was born in Ohio in 1834, died in 1903 in Brookston, White Co., and is buried in Battle Ground Cemetery. He married Emily Burgett (1839-1903), the daughter of John and Catherine (HENDERSON) Burget. They had (I think!) 8 children: Frank V. DILLMAN, b. abt 1857 (he may have married Anna N. Bane in 1884, but when his mother's estate was settled in 1904, his place of residence was unknown); John DILLMAN, who was a 7 month old baby at the time of the 1860 census, but does not appear later; Martha L. DILLMAN, b. abt 1862, married in 1891 Silas C. SHEETZ, son of James SHEETZ and Debina (?) CALVERT; Squire W. DILLMAN, b. abt 1866 (I know nothing further!); Charles (Charley) DILLMAN, b. abt. 1872, married 1903 to May WATKINS, daughter of Joseph WATKINS and Clementine WARD; Emily (Emma) DILLMAN, b. abt. 1869, married in 1890 to Frank Fletcher FISCHER, son of illiam FISCHER and Amy ALBURN; Guy D. DILLMAN, b. 1872, married in 1903 to Harriett B. KELLY, daughter of George W. KELLEY and Mary Jane JACKS (Guy is my grandfather); and Herman Arthur DILLMAN, b. 1880, married in 1925 to Lizzie May LAMB, daughter of J.L. and Anna Lee LAMB. Guy and Harriett Dillman had just one son, my father, Norwood Arthur DILLMAN, b. in 1906 in Battle Ground, IN. His mother died in 1913, and Norwood was raised by his mother's sister's family: Dora (Aunt Doad, nee Kelly) and Guy DOWNING. My father went to Purdue University, worked in Evansville, IN, married Elizabeth F. FROST, moved to Chicago then on to Plainwell, then Kalamazoo, MI. He died quite young in 1960, and we never really knew much about his family from Battle Ground. I can remember visiting the Downing farm just once when I was about four years old. I'd love to hear from the DILLMAN family descendants and find out about Cline, Guy and the others.
