Description of content: Taking into consideration the recommendations of the World
Organization for Animal Health (OIE), the report of the Directorate-General for Health and
Consumers of the European Commission (DG SANCO) and the risk assessment of
ruminant disease caused by the Schmallenberg virus, there has been issued the Notice of
Chief Inspector of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine of 12 July 2012 N° 15-2 -23/6412
allowing import into the territory of Ukraine of pedigree small cattle and cattle from
Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, United Kingdom providing
certification that the cattle originates from disease free farms and has negative enzymelinked immuno sorbent assay (ELISA) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) results.
This Notice amends the Notices of Chief Inspector of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine of
1 February 2012 N° 15-2-23 /715, N° 15-2-23 /716, N° 15-2-23 /722, N° 15 - 2-23 /723 and
of 28 February 2012 N° 15-2-23 /1645, N° 15-2-23 /1646.
The imports of other commodities from these countries, which are under the control of the
State Veterinary Service, should be carried out according to veterinary requirements for
imports into Ukraine of products subject to state veterinary and sanitary control and
supervision.

Official
recommendations of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) that the
Schmallenberg virus is not considered any longer an emerging disease in the mentioned
countries, the report of the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers of the European
Commission (DG SANCO) and risk assessment of the ruminant disease caused by the
Schmallenberg virus.
