ABOUT NCIHC
The National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) is a multidisciplinary organization based in the
United States whose mission is to promote culturally competent professional health care interpreting as a
means to support equal access to health care for individuals with limited English proficiency.
About NCIHC Members
The NCIHC is a multidisciplinary organization with member representation in all 50 states as well as several
other parts of the world (including Japan, the Netherlands, Europe and Latin America). NCIHC members
include full-time, freelance and dual role interpreters; health care organization staff; language agency
employees & contractors; interpreter trainers; policy makers; and consultants in the field. The NCIHC has over
300 members.
About the 2nd Annual NCIHC Membership Meeting
During our annual Membership Meeting, NCIHC members have the opportunity to gather and discuss issues
related to the provision of quality interpreting services in healthcare. Unlike traditional conferences, NCIHC
holds open forum discussions led by experienced moderators, and the data collected during these dynamic
sessions is used toward the development of NCIHC publications, presentations and additional research. The
theme for the 2nd Annual NCIHC Membership Meeting is “Hand in Hand: Shaping the Profession Together.”
Hand in hand, we can help to shape the field. Working together, we can support high standards, envision the
future and build plans that will help to drive the Council and the profession forward. This year, our annual
meeting will also be held to coincide with the Southeastern Regional Conference, making this an attractive
venue for local participants as well.

service providers, educational programs related to interpreting, trainers, recruiters of interpreters, providers of

Opportunity Give-Away
All sponsors and exhibitors are invited to participate in the opportunity give-away during lunch on Day 2 of the
event. If you would like to donate an item for the opportunity give-away, please bring your own container to
collect business cards. You may also wish to have paper slips or index cards on hand for individuals to write
their names. During lunch on Day 2, we will raffle off your prizes. A member of the NCIHC board will select a
name randomly from your container and announce the winner. Winners must be present. Your organization
will be recognized and we will read the name of your organization aloud. One of your staff members must be
present on stage to award the prize to the winner.
