An important outcome of this award will be medical practitioners with the requisite skills in imaging modalities and further integration of anatomical and correlative imaging in programs for residents in nuclear medicine and other specialties.

Description: This award will enable institutions with strong radiology and nuclear medicine departments to support training in correlative/anatomical imaging for their fellows in nuclear medicine and radiology.

Eligibility: North American academic institutions, clinics and hospitals that have well-developed clinical programs are invited to apply.

Selection Criteria (Sample, not necessarily complete): Fellows must

Be citizens or permanent residents of a North American country

Have completed their residency training in nuclear medicine or radiology

Be certified or eligible to sit for such certification in their specialty

SNM Technologist Scholarships in PET/CT

Purpose: This awards helps to ensure nuclear medicine and radiology technologists have the knowledge and skills necessary to support PET/CT imaging.

Description: These awards provide tuition/fee support for technologists attending the PET/CT training offered by the Society of Nuclear Medicine’s PET Learning Center.

Eligibility: Certified nuclear medicine and radiology technologists.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants can come from any country

Financial need and the application of the training to the career of the candidate are key considerations.

Award amount: Tuition and fees at $1500 or $1800 (member vs. non-member fee) and a partial travel stipend where needed for a total of $2,000.

Other Provisions: (To be developed)

SNM Program Development Grant in PET/CT

Purpose: This grant addresses the critical need for low-cost, widely accessible physician and technologist education and training in PET/CT. By melding the dynamic educational needs of

PET/CT with the dynamic character of web-based teaching and learning, nuclear medicine

physicians and technologists (and others) would have ready access to up-to-date training and education.

Description: This grant will enable educators, scientists and technologists to develop webdelivered educational materials and programs in PET/CT. Because this educational endeavor would involve developing materials for both physicians and technologists, we envision a two-year project.

Eligibility: Open to anyone in nuclear medicine in North America. Computer and web-site specialists may be involved as co-grantees.

Selection Criteria (Sample only): Quality of the proposal and demonstration of how the program can be maintained and updated.

Award amount: Up to $100,000 for each year

Other Provisions (Samples):

All copyrights, patents and licensures will become the property of SNM
