QUALIFICATION RENEWAL PROCESS
3-Year Continuing Education Review and Re-designation
DOT regulations state that SAPs must complete at least 12 hours of continuing education during each
three-year period beginning from the date of completion of the qualification exam. The continuing
education must include material concerning new technologies, interpretations, recent guidance, rule
changes, and other information about developments in SAP practice, pertaining to the DOT program.
The continuing education must also include documentable assessment tools to assist in determining
that the material has been adequately learned.
SAPACC has an established program that will provide Q-SAP continuing education review and redesignation. By completing the required DOT continuing education and participating in SAPACC’s
program, SAPs will maintain this important designation.
Once the review process is completed, the Q-SAP designation will be renewed and a new certificate
will be issued. The cost for this service, the certificate and Q-SAP listing on the SAPACC website is
$50.00.
The following is an overview of the renewal process for the Q-SAP designation:

a. Documentation of continuing education (minimum 12 hours) and assessment tools
b. Q-SAP Renewal Form (this form)
c. Payment of $50 (check or credit card)
