Parents/Guardians of children and teenagers in Reykjavík
This summer we will offer a variety of recreation and education courses for children and teenagers in Reykjavík. On ÍTR's summer website www.itr.is/sumar you can find information about summer activities in Reykjavík for children and teenagers aged 5-18. This includes summer leisure activities, sailing, summer camps, sport courses, horseback riding courses, recreational courses and much more.
Registration for Reykjavík's summer activities takes place on Electronic Reykjavík
(Rafræn
Reykjavík).
Registration for the leisure centres' summer activities, for children who are finishing grades 1-4 in primary school starts Monday, April 28th. Registration for a sailing course in Siglunes and for an animal course at the Petting Zoo (Húsdýragarðurinn) will start on that same day.
In addition to the summer leisure activities the leisure centres will offer workshops for children who are finishing grades 5-7 and the youth community centres are going to have an summer opening for teenagers who are finishing grades 8-10. Registration for workshops for
10-12 year olds will start May 15th and it will also take place on Electronic Reykjavík
(Rafræn Reykjavík). You can find more information about the leisure centres' summer activities on the summer webpage .
If parents are not able to use the electronic registration system they can also go to the city's leisure centres and service centres and get assistance with registration. It is not possible to register children for the summer activities via telephone. However, the employees of the service centres, leisure centres and call centres (Tel. 411 1111) can guide parents over the phone if parents are on an internet-connected computer. Registration for summer leisure activities, the sailing course and animal course must be done by 12:00 pm on Fridays if the child is meant to start attending on the following Monday, and it is suggested that parents register their children for the courses in a timely manner since the weeks fill up quickly.
