Broughton Moor – Service Infrastructure and Drainage 5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS 5.1 Public Utilities All the major service providers are present within close proximity of the site and can be summarised as follows: 5.2 Telephone Supply – feasible to supply all areas of site and all types of development. Electricity Supply – feasible to supply all areas of site and all types of development after the installation of sub-station(s). Water Supply – feasible to supply all areas of site and all types of development. Gas Supply – feasible to supply all areas of site and all types of development but due to high connection cost and distance from site may prove to be uneconomic except for very large development. Existing Services Electricity, water, sewage and telephone services exist within the site boundary. Uncertainty about their extent and condition does not make it feasible to use them in future. 5.3 Drainage Surface Water – feasible to construct new drainage system outfalling into existing watercourses with consent from Environment Agency. Foul Water – feasible to connect into existing foul sewer to the north of the site for limited amounts of sewage. Pumping station(s) will be required. 5.4 Recommendations It is recommended that none of the existing service infrastructure and drainage be used for future development. It is recommended that a detailed assessment of service requirements be undertaken for those areas identified for potential development, by client approved consultants.
