EXTRA ITEMS TO CONSIDER
Aluminum Pans - Some times cats/kittens are attracted to the kitchen counters or
kitchen table, however you don’t want kitty in the area where you cook and eat. Go to
The Dollar Store and pick up a handful of Aluminum Sheet Pans and Baking Pans.
Place them on the edge of the counters so they are sticking out about 4 inches. When
kitty goes to jump up on the counter the Pans will come crashing down on their head
and scare them away from this place. After about 4-6 times of this happening your
kitty will have learned not to go on the counter.
Cotton Balls/Small Tupperware/Vinegar – Kitties love to dig in dirt, so when they see
your plants they think that it’s the perfect place to play/pee/poop. This is a natural
instinct for kitties but it’s not so nice to have them doing it in your home. Take a small
Tupperware container and poke holes in the lid. Place in the cotton balls in and pour a
little bit of vinegar on top of the cotton balls. Place the lid back on firmly and put the
tubs in your plants on top of the dirt. Sometimes Limes can be used as well or Hunks of
Bitter Baking Chocolate.
L-Lysine - Get the Capsule Formula from a store that carries vitamins. If kitty starts to
sneeze, sprinkle 125 mg twice daily in their food. If green stuff is coming out of their
nose, then you will definitely need antibiotics from the Vet. L-Lysine is only for
common colds. Use for 10-14 days. Available at GNC, Drugstores or anyplace you
would purchase vitamins.
Bissell Steam Cleaner Pet & Odor Solution – Purchase the solution, then dilute with
water. User in spray bottles to clean up urine or feces accidents. Purchase the Bissell
Spot Bot or Bissell Pet Steam Cleaners – they pay for themselves! Available Online or
at Target.
Canned Air – Purchase Canned Air from Staples or Office Max. 2 Cans for $5.00.
Keep one can at every door in your home. Spray kitty when you walk into the house
and train them to be afraid of the doors so that they never want to go outside! Use the
SSSCat too to train kitty to stay inside.
SSSCat – This is an automatic air sprayer. It is motion detected, so when kitty jumps
up on counters or goes near areas you want to keep him away from. GREAT for the
front and back doors, great for plants, counters, tables, anywhere. They are pricey at
about $24.00 - $37.00, but they work great!!! You can purchase them at Petsmart or
any other Pet Store. The air can be purchased at Staples - Canned Air, much cheaper
than the replacement air that is sold.
Double-sided Tape – Scratch Proof your furniture with Double-sided Tape, it works
great!!!
