Happy New Year!!!
Thank you parents, we appreciated all your help during the holidays. The Holiday program was such fun.
The parties were great. All of the special snacks and gifts were a treat. We can not thank you enough for
making the holidays special for all of us.
Speech, Language, and Hearing Testing with Kristi Tekel will be on January 13 th.
Testing Forms and payment are due back by Jan. 5th. This testing is for children 3 years and older.
New Parents: If you did not receive a one-page school calendar when you enrolled, please ask Debbie or
your child’s teacher for one. It is important as it has dates that we are closed, special dates for parties and
conferences…
Fall Registration: Forms will be coming home soon for registration for next year. All parents need to
return a Fall Registration Form. For those children that will be leaving Mountainside for Kindergarten next
year, please return form with information on when your child’s last day will be. For children in our infant
room, please return the form ASAP so we have a spot saved in the toddler room for your child if needed.
Forms are due back along with registration check by February 1 st.
We want to point out to Parents to a new service in Issaquah. It is called; 1 green planet. They recycle for
free the following items. Computers, ink, toner, printer, monitors, Appliances, Electronics-TVs,
Stereos, Cell Phones, Medical Equipment, and Batteries. Check out their web site at

All classrooms have Hazardous waste bins outside their doors. It is a regulation that when a child soils
them selves in any way, the clothing or blankets must be bagged and put in this bin. Parents are left a note
to retrieve it and take it home. Please do so immediately as the bin contents will be emptied every Friday
evening.
January 14th is MLKing Day. Mountainside is open.
Valentine Parties: Monday/Friday Class - please send in ______ cards.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Class – please send in ______ cards.


Have your child sign or stamp cards with their name.
Do not address cards to other students. This makes it to difficult when children are passing out their
cards to their friends.
Please put your child’s signed cards in a zip-loc bag with their name on the outside. Please give cards to
teachers by February 4th. This allows time for teachers to organize cards and make sure each child has
card’s to give out. They get great enjoyment from looking at their Valentines.
Look for sign-ups for special snack for party day. Class Party Day will be posted by teachers.
Debbie’s Pre-K Class Party will be on Thursday, Feb. 11th.
If you have any questions, please ask your child’s teacher.
Testing: Teachers will begin testing in January. We will go over testing results with parents during
Conferences in March. Conference days are March 10, 11, and 12 th. This may vary per class depending on
how many parents’ teachers need to conference with. Sign-ups will be posted in February. Parent’s of split
families, please conference with teachers at same time.
Happy Chinese New Year on February 14th.
Spring Hat parade and Egg hunt at Mountainside will be on April 1st. Children will make their hat and
basket.
Summer Celebration Party will be on June 24th
Mountainside will be closed on;
May 31st, Memorial Day, July 5th, Independence Day, August 20th, Cleaning Day.
