This agreement specifies the rules for extracting data for BI students from the CCGR database.
The CCGR database is owned by Centre for Corporate Governance Research (CCGR).

As a student, you will be allowed a maximum of 20 variables (item numbers). If the project requires more than 20
items, you must first get an approval from your supervisor and then from the data owner.
You cannot get credit rating data or data that identifies the identity of the company (organization id) or a person.
The organization Ids will be anonymous. If you need the organization Ids you need approval from your supervisor
and also an approval from the data owner. You may also need a permit from the NSD.
Please do not expect the Data Administrator to carry out data transformations on your behalf. That is, you will
only get the raw data. The data will be delivered as a CSV or SPSS file.
Conditions
By signing this agreement I acknowledge that during the course of my student project, I will acquire information
which is confidential to BI or to other parties.
I acknowledge and agree that the information contained in the DATABASE is the exclusive property of the CCGR. I
therefore promise to treat all information from the DATABASE in a confidential manner. This means I will not
disclose or redistribute any information from the DATABASE to any person neither during my term as a student at
BI, or at any time after the termination of the project.
I agree that all written documents containing confidential information shall remain the property of the CCGR.
Moreover, all documents, copies or excerpts shall be promptly returned upon request.
I acknowledge that, in addition to any other rights and remedies, CCGR is entitled to apply to a Court of
competent jurisdiction for a restraining order and injunction to prohibit disclosure by me of any such information.
CCGR shall be entitled to do so in the event of a violation by me of this agreement, in order to protect the
property rights as set forth in this agreement.
I acknowledge the following requirements:
1. I will delete the data no less than 3 months after project termination.
2. I will not transfer data to any members outside the project. Data will not be transferred to other parties
without permission from the data owner and/or BI.
3. In case of misuse of the data, either by me or any person who has been able to access the data because of
me, I will be held liable for economic damages to CCGR’s data provider (Experian).
4. I agree that I will not contact the Data Administrator or the Data Owner without an approval from my
supervisor.
5. I agree that once the project is completed, a copy of the final thesis (excluding the student numbers) is to
be sent to the director of CCGR as a pdf file.
6. I agree that CCGR invokes the right to publish the final thesis on the CCGR homepage.
7. I agree that my obligations under this Agreement will survive the termination of my project.
