Heather Cushing, MPAS, PA-C Heather returned to Olympia Orthopaedic Associates after spending 15 months working in Trauma & Orthopaedics for the National Health System in England. She works with Dr. Timothy DuMontier, specializing in foot and ankle. She has previously worked at OOA with Dr. William Peterson. Heather has experience working in the Sports Medicine subspecialty of orthopaedics, and spent 5 years practicing general orthopaedics in Centralia, WA. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Whitman College, and earned her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2005 from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California. Heather grew up in Yakima, Washington, and made Olympia her home in 2002. She currently lives in Olympia with her husband and two children. She enjoys cycling, volleyball, traveling, and spending time with her family. Heather and her husband love to see their children grow and to explore the world with them. Michael Skriletz, PA-C Michael joined Olympia Orthopedic Associates in September of 2015 and works directly with Dr. P. Brodie Wood at our Eastside location. He received a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Washington followed by a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Florida. Michael grew up in Olympia and loves bicycling, swimming and playing tennis. Rebecca Waggoner, ARNP Rebecca received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University followed by a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. She is a nationally certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Rebecca’s background includes 5 ½ years as a critical care nurse providing nursing care and treatment to patients with various neurosurgical and neurologic conditions at St. Peter’s Hospital. Larissa is very excited to be joining the team at the surgery center. She grew up in Russia and has been enjoying her life in the U.S. for the last 18 years. Larissa has been a nurse for the last 9 years and truly enjoys serving others with a nurturing and compassionate attitude. Larissa has a ballet background in Russia and she loves yoga and a healthy lifestyle. She is also a Esthetician and a licensed Massage Therapist. She is a mother of a 13 and 16 year old who keep her very busy. Larissa comes from the Lakewood Surgery Center where she was holding an admission/PACU position for two years. Larissa says that she “Loves Surgery!” Welcome Meghan Sampson to the ASC team as the new Administrative Support Coordinator. Meghan is married with 3 children and a dog. Meghan’s family loves to camp, boat, fish, and go to church. She was active duty Army for 7 years and worked in D.OD for 10 years. Shelly Ford joins the ASC team working as a RN. Taylor Stork joined the Westside X-ray team as their new tech. After you talk with Taylor for a minute you will realize by her accent that she is not from here, but from the South. She is from Mississippi to be exact! Taylor’s husband is in the Air Force and currently deployed overseas until December. She says that this is their first duty station and it is a huge adjustment for her. Taylor and her husband have the “most precious 15 month old boy named Jensen Matthew and a 2 year old Boston Terrier named Jax.” In Taylor’s spare time, besides taking care of her son, she loves to read, run, and play guitar. Taylor says that she is a bit OCD with her organizational skills so if you randomly see her straightening things out, that’s just her. She is excited to be working for OOA and can’t wait to meet everyone! Nathan Bowman is the newest addition to the Westside Clinic. He is Dr. Snow’s new Medical Assistant. Nathan is 31 years old, born and raised in Olympia. Nathan has been in the medical field for 11 years. HE started as an EMT/Firefighter then moved to Group Health as a Medical Assistant in Urgent Care for 3 years. Nathan says that he and his wife are excited to be part of the OOA family. Kristi Bushell has rejoined the OOA team and is now working in Physical Therapy as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She is very excited to be back after two years of school. Kristi enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping, and spending time with her family. Welcome back to the OOA family Kristi! He is also one of the few orthopaedic surgeons that performs a minimally invasive hip replacement technique called, SUPERPATH. Dr. Zechmann has been in practice with Olympia Orthopedic Associates since 1993. He grew up in Olympia, where his dad was one of the founding members of OOA. Dr. Zechmann, and his wife, Cynthia, a professional harpist, have a blended family of five. He also loves the outdoors and his hobbies include photography, hiking, skiing and boating. Upcoming Lecture: Dr. Zechmann Dr. Zechmann will be giving a lecture NEXT Tuesday, September 22nd on a minimally invasive technique he uses for hip replacements.
