TAHC STALLION SERVICE SALE RULES Stallion Service Bidding This is a Stallion Service Sale. Stallion services will be sold for one half (½) of the advertised breeding fee unless otherwise designated by the stallion owner with a minimum of a $250.00 fee. 25% of the breeding fee is due with the signed contract, with an additional twenty-five per cent (25%) due on May 1, August 1 and October 1 of the breeding year. All chute fees, breeding fees, collection and/or shipping fees, mare care or other veterinary fees are not included in the Stallion Service fee unless otherwise noted. Please check with the stallion owner or manager for details concerning mare care or shipped semen costs prior to buying the stallion service. Mare owners should sign a regular stallion service contract with the stallion owner/manager. Stallion owners interested in repurchasing their stallion service must do so prior to December 31 of the breeding year. Futurity Stallion Owner and purchasing Mare Owner each receive one futurity entry at no charge. All foals from every stallion whose service sold may be entered in any futurity class, but must be entered a minimum of 30 days prior to the date of the futurity for $150.00. If an owner buys a stallion service and chooses to show a foal in more than one futurity class, $150.00 will be charged for the additional futurity classes. Entries must be declared a minimum of 30 days prior to the futurity. No changes may be made after this date. The futurity consists of 2 classes: Weanling Halter and Yearling Longe Line. All sexes will be judged at the same time. All foals showing in the futurity classes must enter and show in the appropriate show class. The futurity classes will be shown immediately following the regularly scheduled classes. The futurity is currently being held in conjunction with the Rhonda-Voo Benefit Show. Futurity classes will be held regardless of number of foals entered. All foals entered must be registered for show with the ApHC at the time of entry. 90% of the monies generated will be used for awards and purses. Purses will be split in the following manner: Weanlings 50% of the Monies Yearling Longe Line 50% of the Monies Monies will be paid through 6th place in the following manner 1 100% 2 60% 40% 3 50% 30% 20% 4 40% 30% 20% 10% 5 35% 25% 20% 15% 5% 6 30% 20% 18% 15% 10% 7% $25.00 office charge per entry will be assessed at the show payable to the Texas Appaloosa Horse Club. All owners and exhibitors must be a current member in good standing of the TAHC. $100.00 will be awarded to the highest placing non-pro or youth exhibitor in each class.
