TOPIC:
WQAD- TV – Station Tour
Mr. Rick Serre – Chief Engineer
Technical operations areas of WQAD-TV-DT: On-air operations
center, master control, studio control, newsroom and studios. As
most stations in the country, WQAD is deep into the transition
between phasing out analog and changing to digital. We have state
of the art automation and video servers working along side 20+
year old tape machines. WQAD-DT provides HDTV when
available from the ABC network. A separate tour of the
transmitter site can be scheduled for a later date if anyone is
interested.
LOCATION:
WQAD – TV
3003 Park 16th Street, Moline, IL. Right up the hill from South
Park Mall
AGENDA:
7:00 PM – Meet at the front entrance of the station.
Parking in lot to the south of the station by Prospect Park
